Delivery Date When Do You Expect Your Xr6?

I was lucky.

Went to the dealer to order mine with leather in Blueprint and they had just taken delivery of one in silhouette with leather and premium sound for the showroom.

Due to the fact this was available for immediate delivery it was an easy decision to forego the blueprint for silhouette.

I drove it out the next day.

Delivery dates, my dealer can't give me any info on when the car will arrive. He is unable/unwiling to give me the sido number. I signed up on the 7th of December. Retail, leather, sun roof, auto in phantom.

The date on the contract says 1st Jan. In the fine print on the back of the contract is the statement:

"If the dealer has not delivered the motor vehicle to the customer within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, the customer may, by notice in writing to the dealer rescind this contract"

I just want to know what is going on? Despite calls to the salesman I have not got any satisfaction. No estimated date of delivery.

I am thinking of waiting to February - then notifying the dealer to forget it. I'll take my luck sourcing a standard car from someone else who has one in stock. I currently know where there are three phantoms awaiting someone with the money.

Anyone a lawyer?

Mine leaves Melbourne on the 24th this month....yay....there is a God, he just loves punishing me!!!

Lets just hope this one has plexis phantom interior, NOT GREY!!!!!! Don't think I can wait for yet another build. But then again, I'll include some more free stuff.... :beigeeyes:

Sounds to me like that if they can not / will not give you the SIDO that they have not ordered it.! I would be pushing real hard and going up the ladder at the dealership. If you ordered it on the 7th of Dec then if they have allocated your order against their allocation they WILL have the SIDO. Each dealer gets an allocation of XR's per month. If they have taken more orders than their allocaiton the only way they can get a car for you is do a swap with another dealer. I would bet that dealers will only swap XR for XR also..

Start stomping some heads bud, dont rest until you get an answer / SIDO....( I say... )

I totally agree with bdennis. I have been told by City Ford that if you dont have a SIDO basically a car hasnt been assigned to you.. thats the bottom line. It sounds as if your dealer is stuffing you around :(
