Mmm. Meanwhile, went to go see the Silhouette XR6 Turbo that arrived at my dealer yesterday. It looks awesome! Can't wait to get mine with the tinted windows! ** Does the Dance of Joy **

:(

I read through all the posts on the long wait you have all suffered this morning. I have now waited 30 hours since signing up - and no sign of the car as yet!

Seriously, your stories of the long wait reminds me of the Ducati harrow. In April I ordered a Ducati that was to arrive in June. OK, fair enough, I lined up some holidays for July and ended up taking the option of another bike (different colour) in late August. The bike originally alloted to me arrived at the dealers in October.

I thought it was just some Italian thing.

At least this time round, if it takes 10 weeks, I still have my car. Last time I sold my trade privately and was on holidays without a bike.

Keep those new pics coming in. They are all I will see of XR6T's for at least another handful of months.

I'm curious as to why people are having to wait (as I'm sure they are)

There are several XR6Ts available in Brisbane right now for immediate delivery. Last week a dealer tried to get me to take a Phantom auto with leather off his floor. This week he's got a Acid Rush one sitting there (cloth trim, I think) ready to go to some lucky buyer. Other dealers here have floor stock of Turbos too. As for NAs, the dealers here are awash with them in all colours and trims.

Just how specific an option list do you have to have to incur a 3 month wait? A hole in the roof I can understand, but dead cow and boom box seems to be available...

I have discovered it comes down to dealer allocations. The bigger the dealer the more cars they are supplied. Also there has been numerous supply problems for parts. Sunroofs to name one. If you are not fussed about options then yes you can purchase one off the floor pretty quick. If I was spending 45 - 50k+ I would be fussy about my options. Also some purchases are through fleet companies and since the profit margin comes down for the dealer they are in no hurry to supply Fleet/Govt. I have spoken to a couple of dealers who were happy to sell me one and deliver it quick smart until they found out I would be buying at govt. price.

WTG, Goose. I'm having an interesting time getting the HR Department of my company to sign off on the novated lease authorisations. Its supposed to be done this afternoon (after 3 weeks of bitching), so I'll have a few days before the car arrives next week to get things sorted.

 Hi guys and gals interested in some delivery date timeframes I'm a little anxious and very impatient.

Originally I was advised by my dealer I was expecting delivery in mid to late Feb early March at the latest. But to my shook I recently receive a phone call saying worst case scenario April WHAT!

Extremely pissed I have rung City Ford just getting a feel for the delivery timeframe for them to tell me I could have what I want at the end of the month early Feb Funny that but he dealer did mention that they have been given an additional xr6T a month on their allocation.

I'd love to do business but I have already left a $5400 deposit.

Please post your delivery dates I ordered mine 30 Nov 02. Only extras leather trim premium sound and brakes.

I've ordered mine on 3rd of January and the dealer said I'd have it by 10th of Feb. Not sure if I will though... :(

Hi John,

l would do some checking into your rights as far as obtaining a deposit refund based on the delivery date quoted and that now likely.

There would have to be a limit at which point you were entitled to your money back, may even be covered on the legal jargon on the back of a new car contract.
