I can get a Rapid one straight away from one dealer. I can also get a Lightning Strike from another straight away as well from another dealer or I can get a silhoutte in the first week of December. You just have to know the right dealers. :glad:

I ordered mine on the 16th of Feb04 and was promised delivery by Mid March. All the way up to mid march the dealer was telling me it would come. I had the SIDO and one of the forum members wored in Ford and said they had not even started building my car yet. The dealer called me and said end of march, then mid April, then end of April. By this time I got the sh!ts and said that I knew they had not even started building the car. They gave me a loaner for 3 weeks until my car arrived on the 17th of May. 12 weeks delivery, when I was promised 4 weeks. The main cause was the Territory was being built and they stopped all XR's while they stocked up on the territories.

The thing that annoyed me is the dealer should not lie to my face if they do not know, it is even worse if I know more about the delivery of my car than they do.....I hope you see your car before the new year, but I would not hold my breath waiting.

I was told today that if I signed the order today it would be Feb or March before I would take delivery. Apparently the dealer only gets 1 phoon each month.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah. When I signed for the phoon, I was told that it would be one of the last of the first build run; I had the option of waiting for the second batch, delivery starting Feb, if I wanted to wait (or if I was too slow in signing).

Looks like it'll be February anyway, judging by the news I've been getting :k24t:

That having been said, my actual contact (account manager?) at the fleet company got indignant on my behalf today aimed at the dealer, so big ups to George :k24t:

Update!

Put some pressure on a guy from the dealer - it's now on the line this Monday, due at the dealer on the 20th. As they have nothing to do at the dealership other than give it a vacuum and a wash, I'm hopeful that day will be a go-er.

The guy did actually mention that with the factory shutting down for Christmas, they often go into overdrive. With any luck, it could even be the at the dealership by the 17th.

Fingers crossededed.

Hi all, great site!

I'm a Expensive Daewoo man by nature, but I love the new BA XR's, way more bang-for-buck than the VY/VZ commodores, and the XR6's look WAY hotter!!

I've accepted a new job with a company car of my choice up to $40k - you guessed it, I'm going for a N/A XR6 MkII. I'd love the turbo, but they won't spring the extra dosh for it, major letdown.

Now, what's the normal times from order to delivery? The only options I'm getting are the Premium sound upgrade and a tow-pack.

Can anyone give me an idea? Thanks.

Nate
