You will get a help desk person and just ask them to look up your car. All you need is the SIDO number. They have done it every time for me except once.Does anyone know the guys name that is the manager of Ford Australia?Just found out that mine has not left ford yet. and it will not be delivered till next week. Will it be quicker if I go and get it with a trailor?

Though, its only an NA XR6, so that should speed things up a bit.

It one thing to have a great car, another thing to get one. I am jealous of anyone who will see their car this year. I know it is fustrating, but everytime it gets put back just think of the poor schmucks like me who have to wait until March 03.CEO of Ford Oz is Geoff Polites, but contacting him will not change the delivery date of your car. I know I tried.

This has to be one of the most wanted cars Ford Australia has ever produced. They were not expecting everyone to want one. All the awards, and publicity this car has been getting has added to the demand and has caused excessive delays.
Guest Phantom Guests Posted 27/11/02 02:15 AM Share Posted 27/11/02 02:15 AM How could they make such a bloody good car and not expect everyone to want one.Contrast the past 2 months to the bad publicity surrounding the release of the AU from which sales never recovered.I think we are going to see a lot of XR6T's on the road next year. I hope they are not all phantom.
Guest DZ. Guests Posted 27/11/02 06:39 AM Share Posted 27/11/02 06:39 AM Thought everyone might be interested in this - it's from the notgoodenough.org web site:“What kind of service is this?" asks Chris Gauci Two weeks ago when I signed on for the purchase of a new XR6 Turbo Falcon from President Ford -Elsternwick (Vic) I was told "Yes sir, you will have the car in a matter of weeks" Stupidly I allowed them to put Estimated Delivery Time as 'ASAP' on the contract. One week later I receive a phone call from the sales person stating, "Sorry you won't get your car until April Next year" That's a six month wait! I called Ford HQ and asked "what kind of service is this?" And when they knew that I was purchasing the vehicle on a staff promotion plan at a discounted price, they didn’t want to know me. "Sorry, you'll just have to wait" they said. "It's up to the dealer when they want to give you the car, and if they're not making as much money out of it as someone else paying full price then you'll just keep on waiting".So bad luck for me, regardless if I ordered my car before others, I have to wait because there’s more margin to be made elsewhere. That says to me that Ford obviously care much more about $$ than customer satisfaction.. Very unhappy customer. Ford’s responseDear Fiona, Thank you for offering a forum in which both customers and organisations have the opportunity to share views and resolve any concerns. We took the opportunity to discuss with the customer directly. His concern is twofold - the waiting time to receive his vehicle, and the handling of employees' relatives purchasing under an employee scheme. In this instance, the customer's preferred vehicle is the newly introduced Falcon XR6 turbo, which has received unprecendented levels of positive reviews and consequently is in extremely high demand amongst all customer groups inclusive of those entitled to an employee discount. Efforts throughout our organisation and our suppliers are being poured into working as quickly as possible to alleviate waiting time. We are of course delighted that the customer has placed XR6T on his shopping list. We further appreciate the time taken to write and express the concern and apologise for any disappointment the waiting time is causing.
