Order March 03... Dealer said to expect about 8 weeks.

Delivered End June, 03.... I was very dissapointed and the information coming through was very limited.

I think I was in the same boat as VG, I got a very special price because of the company I work for (which was a little below National Fleet pricing). They really seemed to be trying to get me to cancel, so they could sell it for full retail off the lot. At one stage the story changed completely and I was pretty sure that my original order was given to someone else who was willing to pay more.... Can be sure though.

Cheers.

As the subject askes.

I have my SIDO, but the dealer says he has no info on the delivery date. As I am VERY impaitent, I would like to know if anyone can check the SIDO and tell me when it is slated to be built.

Thanks

SIDO=545003

I dunno, when I bought my car the dealer could use the SIDO number in thier computer system and it would show all the details of the cars progress.

and the delivery date would be updated if something changed.

I don't think theres something available to the public which does the same thing

That's right. You need a registered user name and password to access the site in question.

ZapXR6T,

I don't know about checking delivery date, but if you wanna see the progress of your car go to http://203.89.210.4/ and put the SIDO in and they will email you pics as it moves along the line. If anything it will only make the wait even harder as you can see it but still can't touch it. What specs have you gone for with your car?

that link is good, but the dealer must report the car as being sold before you can get pictures of it, and they usually aren't available until like a day after you have the car. :)

Thanks Jaymz,

I knew about the link, what I am after is a build date for my car.

I do not know why Ford cannot tell me when I have a SIDO.

I guess it may be the dealer does not know how to us a PC.

Went with most options - Turbo, Lightning Strike, Manual, Luxury Pack (climate control, sports leather, auto lights, fairmont clock), Premium Brakes, XR Scuff plates, F/R Mudspats, boot liner, tinting, 17" alloys, HD Towpack, mobile phone presenter

Ford can call the trucking company and give you delivery details from there. This is using just a SIDO because at that stage, the car has no rego. They did for me.

All those factory fitted options will slow the build process down considerably (premium brakes, luxo pack) and manuals are only being built at like 3 out of 10 cars... when I looked to order my car in manual (before I drove the SSS) that was going to take nearly twice as long as a auto.

you'll just have to grin and bear it. we've all had to wait .. just call the dealer every day or every 2nd day, sooner or later it'll have a delivery date next to it.

I think I remember being told if it has no delivery date is still pre-production, I.e not even on the line yet.
