I've owned 2 Vu SS's and I loved them. No problems at all(except we cooked the ecu once as the test pig for LS1 Edit in WA). I think you'll find there are just as many sh*t falcons out there as commodores.

I had a drive in a VU Acclaim a couple of weeks ago. Steering was OK. Accelleration was abyssmal. The noise was even worse - the auto was never sure what the hell to do so it just made the engine rev all the time as if making noise and not going anywhere was a good thing. The throttle needed more pressure than the brake pedal and the thing was so hard to drive smoothly it was a joke. I was glad that I only had to drive it 10km. I had no complaint about any of the controls but didn't drive it far enough to have to use very many. However my biggest gripe is the shiny surround around the centre dash section caused heaps of reflection and glare - I thought shiny parts on dashboards went out in the 60s. In fact I'm pretty sure this thing is in contravention of the ADRs - if not it damn well should be as it was very dangerous. Some Holdens I do like, but I honestly would not own one of these if it was given to me.

Most of us bag out holdens, how crap they are, how good our cars are compared to them, and we do this without really knowing what they are like. We just pass on what we hear from others.

I'm guilty of this, till now anyway.

Whilst my car is in for a service my client has been nice enough to get me a hire car from Avis without me even having to ask. In any case it was a new Late model camira wagon, with 2,000kms on the clock..

As I took it out of the rental lot I noticed how noisy it was in the cabin, how vague the steering was (don't most Late model camira owners say the steering is a strong point?), and how loose the brake pedal was.

I'm not a fan of the interior, the way the controls are laid out, the placement of the headlight switch, cruise control controls, etc..

Anyway, every car has it's faults yes even ours, but this just tops the cake.

I dropped into my clients old site, turned the car off, came back in 10 mins to move it around to the loading dock. The car doesn't start. No ticking, nothing.

So the car I get to replace my beloved Falcon whilst it is in for it's service does not start on me, and if that isn't hilarious enough the same thing happened this morning!! :smilielol:

Moral of the story - Commodores are pretty sh*t cars  :laughing:

I have a brand new Acclaim as a company car. It is okay for what it is but a Futura would have been much more appreciated. They really are a very old car. There are vibrations where there should be none and little things everywhere I hate............. But, I can't complain. It really makes me appreciate what is home waiting for me on weekends!

Just confirming what more of "us" know then you think.....lol. Have tried "both" sides of the fence and no way would I go to the dark side.....lol. Similiar situation when "GIMLI" was getting a warranty issue worked out, Berlina Wagon and gawd was it bad!

Might as well have. I drove a VZ SS the other day just to make sure I did indeed want an XR6T. Well the VZ SS rode exactly the same as my old VY SS and really not a lot different to a 98 VT I had at one point. Expensive Daewoo is selling 90s technology at present and are wondering why their sales are falling.

I drive commodores at work we have the newer one with the 3.6ltr v6 and we also have one with the 3.8ltr v6 and I reckon that the older one with the 3.8ltr donk is alot better than the newer one,its so much smoother when taking off and more responsive,the 3.6ltr with its electronic throttle is crap you put your foot down and there is a slight hesitation before it goes and makes the ride a bit jerky,apart from that there not too bad better than driving a 4 pot ricer
