Hello all,

This is my first new post so dont flame me if this is covered elsewhere! I did look before leaping!

I will be getting my Grey 2003 XR6T in June..( too many sleeps away!) and a few days ago I stumbled on the ASL Ford UpgradesASL site. Now I have been involved in the xbox scene for quite some time, and have "helped" many people realise the benefit of an XBOX for their home enetertainment needs.

Now when I saw the XBOX mods that some members have done I got very excited indeed! I have a few xboxs spare and am wrigning my hands in glee thinking of this upgrade. That said im good with xbox's but sh*t with cars. So I have a few questions for those that have been therer already.

1. How hard to install ( im putting in boot)

2. Car audio shop or auto elect to install? ( I live in Ballarat Vic)

3. Remote power an issue? (easiest way?)

4. Once on can you switch back to orignal image without turning off xbox?

5. Whilst driving do you get the visual stuff as well as audio or does it need to be in park to work?

Also I use xbmc as my dashboard, rather than having to launch from evox or avalaunch etc... I have started to make a skin for it in preparation, so now when you start my xbox, there is no "flubber" animation and it lanches a high quality Ford logo with "XR6 Turbo" in great chrome writing underneath. ( THIS COULD BE CHANGED IN PNG EDITING S/W TO BE TYPE OF VEHICLE OR NICKNAME "SHOCKF6" etc :) )

I will post this skin and how to install when it is finished.. thinking of killing a lot of the links that arent needed to make it easier to read and use.. any tips or requests are welcome. BTW what resolution does it run in? Thanks guys..good to be here..

Hi,

Ive got my xbox in the boot running fine. I havent mounted it properly yet but its very stable (even when the boot heats up), I run mine with an inverter (modified sine wave). I dont know whether you can switch back to the original screen once you turn it off I havent fiddled enough with it. You will get the visual stuff while driving.

Try to find an aerpro 711761 wiring loom and that will contain the connector you need to get into the ICC. Connect it up to an xbox SCART cable (lop the SCART end off) and it all good.

I used a car audio amp wiring kit to run to the inverter, then just ran a multicore cable up to the ICC screen is sharp and audio crystal clear.

XBMC is the best xbox application ever made and continues to get better all the time. Nothing comes close for an all round media player. You will need to get enigma video switcher to change your xbox to NTSC. Try to get some logitech wireless controllers to save a bit of wire.

Look forward to seeing your skin

Mitch

There are a few people on the forums that will tell you Aaron is a whizz at ICE.

But keep up the great work, the more XBoxes in T's, the better!
