"Boost, the replacement for displacement"

and we can still travel and use less than 10.5L/100km... id like to see a 6L do a trip in under 15L! lol

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Im talking stock comparison. :msm:

But remember if you strapped a turbo on a 6 litre V8.Heaps more mumbo.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think you'll find several stock BF XR6T Auto 6-speeds have run 13.3 in stock trim.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Dont think so

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What flukey said :nono:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think he may be thinking the typhoon

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Someone on this forum has run a 13.3 in a BF Auto, either a XR6T or a F6. Can't be bothered doing a search for it though.

6 litre....Meh....when are they finally going to fit three more cams and put them on top of the heads....then I'd be interested......slightly....

Why do they need to? Why put extra weight into an engine that is performing very nicely thank you? Why put all that extra weight ON TOP of the engine when it is going to adversely affect the roll centre of the front of the vehicle - haven't come across a BOSS powered car yet that can turn in anywhere near as quickly as a POS Commy.

ALSO - the 6.0L will use less fuel on a trip than a T that has the same power output. The car is lighter for a start and the GEN range of engines are recording quite good fuel economy - certainly a long way better than the BOSS motors.

I think the 6.0L SS is a bargain BFYB vehicle - at least as good as a T.

Aleast we are back on topic.

I agree that the SS and SV8 are great bang for your buck kinda cars.Who cares that if you mod your T you will beat one. :kissmy: I m just stating that for stock comparison, that they are a pretty potent car :msm: and on figures alone, look like upsetting rival V8 counterparts :crybaby: (STOCK)that is anyway.

By the way,I do drive a XR6T,so dont flame me OK

Come on Jeff pretty bold statement for someone with little or NO experience with Boss motor's,put a 290 into a car with the weight of a crapadoor and see what it can do :crybaby:

I did'nt have any trouble with any Hsv in the straights and around the twisty's on the last cruise and I've only spent $2100 on mods p1ssing off the  Dunlop's is a big improvement for the handling alone and if the Boss motors where in the AU series they probably would'nt have the reputation that they do

Chris from Bluepower is running 11.7 in his xr8 with only bolt on's :kissmy: And std GT's have run a 13.8 also not bad for nearly 2 Tonne of car and driver :msm:

CYA JEFF

Meh, I was talking with one of the guys I work with and he was saying a standard Expensive Daewoo ploy (they've apparently been doing it for years) is to give the current model a little free upgrade a few months before the next model comes out, it's almost like a teaser \ beta tester...

From what I have been told it tends to be with features rather than straight out acceleration, but...

Too Right and im sure it has been said before but obviously people arn't listening, the BOSS is a impressive V8 more so the 290 Version, with a few FPV's pulling around 300Rwkw with just Bolt on's and a tune, show me any LS1/2 that has done that?

Anyone?

And the Boss's Fuel economy isn't half as bad as they make out in magazines like MOTOR, especially after Mods.

I will belive this 6.0L SS Pull's a 13.8 when someone over on LS1.com.au pull that time or better and posts the timeslip untill then who cares...
