when my trans went the input shaft was well shafted. both bands where bald....the clutch packs where rooted and it cost me a lot of cash to repair. i didnt lose any gears it just developed a harsh shift into second and used to flare slightly first to second. then it died on the dyno....flared badly....

i'd seriously recommend that anybody that has a first to second flare get the box sorted asap....avoid driving the car. once the band wears its steel on steel on the second gear planetary hub. if the band damages the hub and i cannot be salvaged

kiss godbye to another $1000 on top of the rest of the rebuild.

my 2c

luke....

ANOTHER UPDATE,

Just got the news from Kewish yesterday that I have broken some teeth clean off the gearsets :spoton: , Burnt the 2nd gear Band as I've worn off all the insulating material on the inside of the band and it was starting to scrape the metal band on the actual drum! :glad::glad::msm:

It will come back tougher than ever, including a 2500rpm stall, and the Mandarin monster will be back on the road faster than ever before. Just spewing as it prolly wont be ready in time for Calder next friday night :spoton:
