Hey,

I just bought myself an XR6T 04. I previously had an EL XR6.

What I want to know is how quick are they really, compared to other Standard road Cars. I want to know what I can beat. I knew the limits of my EL XR6 so I wouldnt take on anything that I couldnt beat..  But I want to know how the Turbo goes against, SS, WRX, 200SX's , etc... I want to know from people that have driven and beaten other cars... Obviously the fun in having the car is to test out for my self, but I want to have an indication as well...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Ive had an older 911 decline to take me on and 2 monaros as well. Sometimes youll be lucky to get an encounter at all!

Your car will put down around a 14.2s quarter mile, it will beat many things and come very close to others.

Got that out of the way...

You WILL beat a stock GEN3 LS1 in your T, a GEN3 with exhaust and intake will be door to door at any speed, standing start or roll on... I know from experience from my best mate who has done this to his (manual) VU SS ute...I beat him, he did exhaust and intake and we were door to door, he got edit and I now lose... badly...

Edited LS1 will beat a stock T...

I've beaten a kid on his L's on a CBR 250RR in my stock T... he couldn't believe I went with him and beat him... I do because I used to have a 4 stroke 250 and they aren't that fast...

I can't wait till I 'go' with a decent sports bike in my T... if it matches the face on the kid with the 250 I'll be a happy camper!!!

Nice

Jack

spend $1500 and there wont be too much you have to worry about on the street.

$1500 will get you the edit ($950) and custom tune $300-500.

what were you worried about again, SS, S200, wrx :spoton:

Spend a bit more and you'll be beating some of the quicker bikes too. You should see the looks on their faces. Priceless!!!

clearly these guy's can't ride :spoton:

Chooka

Well I have had numerous runs with my mates Injected R1 with yoshi(no power commander)

Rolling run from 100kmh(ON PRIVATE ROAD OF COURSE) He would clutch his bike and I could hold him till 200kmh,which is when I hit overdrive and he then passes me.

So to answer Sutty post. Yes you can hold your own with 1000cc inline Jap bikes.

My 2 cents

Disgrtuntled Goat,

dont write these cars off round a track..

I did the same lap time as an evo 8 and an 05 sti, and that was my first track day!

a good edit should be enough to pip a stock WRX, but you will need an exhaust as well to beat a stock STi or EVO.

of course all this is straight line only, no matter what mods you get, they will always mop the floor with you around corners, so best to not go there....

This is very subjective.

Of course, all things being equal (same driver/PTWR) an all wheel drive will be faster round the track. But a good driver in a modded "T" will hose and average driver in a modded evo etc. It's always so hard comparing apples with oranges. Really, people should not make sweeping statements like this IMHO.

Phil.

that's all well and great on a track, a nice controlled surface that never changes lap after lap, but try do a WRX or EVO through a mountain pass, like the Spur and you will lose, and that's apples with apples (stock vs stock or modded vs modded). I've owned both and I know the XR is a damn fine car, but I also know the Soobie was that much better through the twisty stuff. Its grip, size and poise through slow and medium corners was brilliant. Yup the XR would be a car lenght or two ahead in a rolling start but most other places the Soobie (a Gen2 Legacy converted to Ver3 Sti running gear) would beat it, well for now anyway, but not for long.

Yup I love my XR but damn I miss the Soobie....well sometimes....
