Guest Guests Posted 09/02/06 02:39 PM Share Posted 09/02/06 02:39 PM Hey everyone,Car parked at shopping centre near Ramsgate about three days ago, darted into a supermarket to grab a few things, come back to see about five people standing around the ute.Go to see what the fuss is all about, bingo! Someone backed their vehicle into the front end and did the runner, yep, no details.Enough damage to warrant a new front end, bonnet and perhaps maybe front left and right qtr panels, as the impact has caused them to pop outwards, directly where the front bar and the panels meet. Not yet losing my cool, I asked the bystanders if they had seen anything. Now unless I spoke in mime or suddenly became dyslexic, not one of them understood what I was saying nor could reply in english.Anyhow, the ute goes in tomorrow, expected to be done by Wednesday. My question is, Should I need to have my vehicle retuned?Only reason I as is since the accident, it's lost some of it's urgency to accelerate in just about every gear. Not that I'm giving it a boot full in it's current state, but every so often just to make sure it's not my imagination. The intercooler is off centre, with the right hand side being higher than the left.Good new outof all this, my new best friend at the dealership where I purchased it, through the guys in parts department and with a little ringing ahead mixed with good fortune, I'll be having a FPV Tornado front bar fitted with an XR8 bonnet (should know by tomorrow about the bonnet)Anyone a wizz on photoshop, I'd love to see what the Tornado Bar and power hump combination would look like.CheersDarren

Guest Guests Posted 09/02/06 05:12 PM Share Posted 09/02/06 05:12 PM (edited) could there have been a tear or split or hole stuck in the intercooler dude?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Not sure,To be honest, I havent had a detailed look up close (only cause I can't hardly stand driving the ute when looking like this, let alone eye ball the damage up close)I'll speak to the repairer when comes time to drop it off, highlighting the lack of ooomphh, and to check over the plumbing and fittings with a fine tooth comb. Fingers crossed I'l need a new intercooler too (typhoon will do thank you Mr.Insurance man)Also,Does anyone know of the BF Tornado front bar is a straight clip in job or are there additional mounting and support brackets needed?Darren Edited 09/02/06 05:14 PM by DARREN
