Having had a XR6t with 250rwkw (edit only) with the 5 speed clunker and now owning a F6 Auto for the past 2 days, I would say...GO THE PHOON.

Before you pass judgment on the auto, all I can say is try one. I am a manual driver who is loving the new auto and I have not even started using the SSS yet.

The F6 also has a whistle and exhaust note that makes paople turn around, even though it is stock.

I had a Boss powered car the V8, there expensive to mod and the gains are slow and hard compared to the the F6.

F6 lighter over the front wheels, car feels much smoother to drive, handles better, than the V8 and the F6 has a better power delivery its wicked...

Hi Robbo

I've just picked up my new BF 6 speed auto Typhoon last friday. It's only done 600km's so far but I tell you what, the XR6T is a great car, but the 'phoon is a level above that.

It's hard to describe the difference, it's simply better all round.

I have been tossing up my options for months now and to finally have made this decision I'm not sorry at all.

Firstly you need to drive the cars you are considering back to back over the same piece of road. That's what I did, it's the only way to compare them on equal ground.

After much research and debate, trying to justify the extra expense, it's all been worth it.

I drove home from work the other night using full manual mode and I've gotta say it's a huge improvement over the Four speed auto. Dare I say it's almost as good as the real thing.

If you read what the motoring mags are saying "The Typhoon auto may quite possibly be the best Aussie muscle car ever built". I find it hard to disagree but then I am biased as well.

I bought an '05 plate with the factory 19" wheels plus accessories for $59,064 Drive away, to me that's a bargain for what you get for the money.

Remember this, you can option up a 'T' for less money but at resale time it's worth no more than the next 'T' in similar condition with the same km's and that's where the value is.

Good Luck with your decision, it's not an easy one.

Cheers

Big AL

Sounds like you got a great deal cooltint.

Thanks all.

I think it is time to get on the treadmill and start wheeling and dealing with the dealers. I've got the thumbs up from the wife and kids and it looks like a Typhhon in Rapid is the way to go. I will take a GT for a spin but I think the upgradeability of the F6 is a winner (and I can feel a few mods coming already !!!) .

I'll keep you guys informed !!

Anyone interested in a Limited Edition, 100 only, Black GTO ... I know a bloke who has his name on one !!!
