I followed him through traffic for a little while and checked it out, it still had the bra on the front and black painted wheels. Eventually got some clear space and pulled up next to him at the lights. Pulled half a car length on him to 100. I hope he wasn't fully trying. Or maybe its true that hire cars go harder. I could hear the engine revving so he definately was giving it a bit. Those 4-500 extra kgs over the XR must really take the edge off. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>He definately wouldn't have been trying!! Maxima's are rubbish in accelerating.

If he wasn't trying then I don't know why he tried to stay with me to 100, and why his engine was revving quite loudly. He was having a go, just how much of a go is the question. For a power to weight equation of say 2100kg divided by 245 you get 8.5. that's just approximate but I think that is about the same as an XT. It does not stir me like the XR body kit. I think Ford need to do something about a body kit for the turbo Territory. My opinion anyway.Having said that, I'd probably still consider one for my next vehicle because of its versatility (starting to feel the pinch for room to carry things for those interstate holiday trips). Had a look at others like the Merc ML and they sort of come up short on room compared with the Territory in terms of space/$. I also like the idea of going bush and the ski-fields in AWD mode. Now that's a thought - a XR6 Quattro Turbo!

Also has anyone seen the under bonnet of the Turbo Territory?? The intercolled looks bigger then the one fitter to the sedan and also the pipes from turbo to intercoller and back to TB are very very short! Can only be a good thing! The throttle response isnt exactly an issue with a 4ltr so the shorter inlet path benefits are negligable.Plus everyone who wants grunt will put a fmic on anyway. Subaru did it, and look at every 2nd rex.
