Timer start's now until we have the whinging on litres per km... :fool:

Good point Dags

On our recent 2500km trip along the GOR, Adelaide etc we averaged 14lt/100km, 90% of that was open roads with the CC on :pinch: Hate to think what the turbo will manage but it wont be pretty.

Heard the price could be $69k for the Turbo Ghia, sounds a bit high to me,

I've just completed a similar journey (2300 klms) in a rwd territory, with 2 adults & 2 kids plus luggage using predominately cruise control and averaged 11.5 lt/100klms.

what are fords intention for the rwd as at this stage NO mention of the 6 SPEED AUTO / OR TURBO OPTION.

I had a run against one of the development mules last night in a hire car Nissan Maxima as my XR was stolen. I followed him through traffic for a little while and checked it out, it still had the bra on the front and black painted wheels. Eventually got some clear space and pulled up next to him at the lights. Pulled half a car length on him to 100. I hope he wasn't fully trying. Or maybe its true that hire cars go harder. I could hear the engine revving so he definately was giving it a bit. Those 4-500 extra kgs over the XR must really take the edge off. :wasklywabbit:

Went to my local dealer today to get the lowdown. Unfortunately at this stage they have as little info on these as us. Anyway I have my test drive booked for when they receive their first one. I took one of the new 6 speed territories for a run today and I am impressed, very smooth and the 190kw engine seems to have plenty of power. I cant wait for the turbo it is going to be awsome.

I just hope the new colours are a little less boring than whats available now.
