Phil one of my customers GT was a 60 flat comming in second (Same guy that owns Project BF XR6T) Hes wrapped. Stock Series I FPV brakes ect.

Phil or Andew? a guy in a GT40 replica came first, Andrew Green in a GT-P with suspension work, factory Brembo's, induction/exhaust and RE55 tyres came 2nd and I was third. No stock car was running anything less than 65's around the short track. All the quick street cars had suspension work, with some running comp tyres as well.

These timed events are heaps more fun than drag racing :pooh:

Any utes do well?

I think there was one AU Pursuit 250, can't remember what time it did. No F6 utes, a couple of BA and BF F6 sedans including a bionic 6-speed auto. From memory it was doin 68's or 69's with it's fully equipped Brembo's and stuff.

Very nice time there Jason. What spes did your car have on the night?

As for no stock suspensioned, non comp tyre'd cars under 65 seconds... well, there will be next week.. :)

Sorry didn't get cam to you, aparently we need it for 'family events' tomorrow.. meh.

Don't quote my comment as gospel, I'm waiting for the times to become available. I knew the orange GT that Simon is referring to was quick, but when I left at the end of the night I was in 3rd spot, behind the GT-P and GT40 replica. I may have missed something though. Not that it matters as it was a good experience and has rekindled my interest in these sprint events. Being my first sprint event in this car I know which areas need addressing for the next one.

My setup last night was: Whiteline adjustable front and rear sway bars on firmest setting, Harrop springs, Bilstein shocks. Full fuel tank too boot. Stock brake pads :spoton: and my Hankook street tyres. The suspension setup is perfect with neutral handling. I could dial in understeer or oversteer at will. The tyres have coped very well, that owing to the good suspension setup.

My pads are destroyed after last night, but that is to be expected from the factory pads. They had around 75% on them when installed during the week - having looked at them today they're down to around 5%. I didn't think they'd hold up as well as they did. Next time though I'll have proper pads installed. Brake rotors are fine but the slots do require cleaning.

Having done many sprint events in my old car I'd say there's probably 3.5-4 seconds to be gained with a prepared car for the circuit. Try making those kind of gains at the drags  Each type of event does require a good setup and I think the 6-speed is better suited to the circuit rather than the strip.

I'm sure you'll have a ball. It would be good to see a few of these big HP manuals going around the track. After all, that is where they would excel. No worries with CV breakages or anyone of those issues - just good fast driving to be done.

One thing that does become very apparent is how poorly a street car feels on the circuit compared to how it behaves on the street.

Yes, nothing like a day at the track to show the shortcomings of a car...

My last outing at Wanneroo had me fairly dissapointed with the barge. Too heavy, Too spongey, Terrible brakes and not enough power. Wanneroo needs a fairly powerfull car to get thru the esses and up the hill, but a nimble one to get around the twisty back section..

I have a little bit more grunt, better tyres and better pads in now. I think I was going around in roughly 62ish seconds before ( untimed, just off the vid camera )?? Didn't get too many full laps in without the compressor pipe blowing off..

Anything low 60 seconds in a 'street' car on propper street tyres is good around there.
