I think a lot of people have the same situation. Mine revs to around 1800rpm then drops very quickly, say around 2 seconds. On one instance it revved to 2000rpm and stayed there for around 25 seconds, before I shut the car off and restarted... all was good then. As for the heat, I notice that in standard form, the temp gauge always gets closer to the middle. However, when I have my tune in, the temp stays a bit under half way between 1/4 and 1/2. Which is always a good thing!! I think its has something to do with how it was tuned. Either way, it can only be a good thing if the car isn't getting as hot! The engines in the maxima are the 300sx engines just non turbo. Could it be also be the case with the XR6T's that its trying to get the oil circulating quicker?Nesh Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/23122-high-idle-onstart-up-after-cappa-edit/#findComment-344077 Share on other sites

Initially appeared to be one of the various installed 'features' of the initial tune along with the disappearing TC which was subsequently sorted by a better/correct tune.Dingah Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/23122-high-idle-onstart-up-after-cappa-edit/#findComment-344088 Share on other sites

Going back soon to hopefully get it sorted. The biggest problem with this is that the tuner only gets 1 chance to see what's happening.I also have the TC problem, but hopefully that will get sorted too. Also had the TC disenage on the first day but it was wet, been ok since on that front. How can you tell what tune revision is in your box?Whats the latest and whats involved in geting any flash upgrades?Either way I'm happy as pig in Sh1T looking for more more more already, and will be going custom tune real soon once cat and inj get here so probably a mute post.
