Man it's time you blokes got your fingers out of your :kissmy:

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to change a set of injectors even a nuff nuff should be able to change a set in the same time as it takes to drink half a dozen stubbies. If you plan to use the Edit as a tuning tool ask your supplier to have to supply a genic map that covers larger injectors like the 968's so the engine will run. If you want max power have it custom tuned.

Stock valve springs are good for at least 280 rwkw so don't waste your money, it's all a money making scam. :spoton:

How many times do we need to go over the same :pooh: do some basic research and you'll find the answers your looking for.

Macka .... I've run out of patients with this forum :fool:

"The factory boost control stuff is fine, the factory PCM has more ability than an aftermarket E-Boost is ever going to have, dont waste your money, everything is linked togehter, fuel, timing, boost, if you remove control of one, you mess with all the others."<----qoute Eugene

Just a quick one..i have an Eboost fitted to my car that as discussed in other threads i fitted to control some overboost problems i was having with a p*ss poor tune supplied by my previous tuner....i think they are a fantastic bit of gear. they have a sh*tload of functionality that includes the ability to lock your wastegate, alter boost senstivity to prevent boost drop off at high rpm,u can run up to six different boost profiles and have different max boost overboost shutdowns and wastegate locking pressure for each profile (they can be made switchable from a dash mounted switch..) i have my car set up so that on start up it runs the low boost profile and then if i want to have a play i can turn the boost up Simon from Xtreme has tuned my car so that it has the correct fuel and timing setups for the high boost setting. It runs sweet on the lower settings as with my limited understanding of the factory ecm is that fueling is related to boost level so running a low boost setting has a similar effect to running around off boost(im sure if im wrong somebody will correct me on this one..). Much easier than plugging the flash tuner in and reflashing the ecm every time u want to change boost levels..i have tried my current tune with the factory boost solenoid hooked up and then with the eboost and my set of the pants dyno feels like the boost comes in much lower and stay i longer with the eboost. One day hopefully i'l try them both down the strip and see if it really makes a difference...... :spoton:

hmm for a quick one that sure was long winded.... :kissmy:

On the clutch issue ive supplied 7 Xtreme Clutches and have had no issues, I use there disks in my stock F6 clutch. Very good quality gear.

On the E boost set up I hadnt used one till lucas's car, they are nice and very user friendly, BUT I dont think they are a must unless you want to be able to change boost maps BUT in that instant you wouldnt want to have alot of variation in the boost and have it just tuned for your big map.

thanx for all your help guys. well most of you anyways

macka mate, I thought the whole reason these forums or message boards were here was to provide a support group to those who dont know much about these machines by people who have been there and done that. you seem to forget that not all of us have been here since the begining.

I for one have wondered around this forum every once in a while, but it is only now that im begining to modify my ute. and I know the basics however I would like to learn a little more in depth before I plunge into useless mods.

if I cant learn from guys who have been there and done that, then I suppose that its going to be a expensive lesson for me to learn by sorting out whats good and whats bad between all the aftermarket parts out there.

if you have run out of patience with this forum then may I suggest you move on to another,

there is absolutely no rule that states that you MUST read or reply to every thread so if you have nuthing to add to help out a NEWBIE and you have no patience for one than please keep out of the thread.

went to 2 places today pricing bits for my mates SS commo

and figured while I was there I would ask about the price of injectors

one place quoted me $190ea for the Bosch 968s supply only

another place quoted me $1200 for the same but fitted

an I know that I can get them from this forum for between $690-460 roughly.

so why the huge mark up? is it cos the tuning shops can and will charge double for the exact same thing?

thank god for online communities :)
