built2redline Member 187 Member For: 19y 8m 16d Location: sh*tney Posted 03/02/06 09:06 AM Share Posted 03/02/06 09:06 AM well a few of you may remember I was having problems with overboost on my ute, well I took it in to C&V performance and they said its probably a software problem with my currnet edit.I was going to do the capa box edit anyways so I told them togo ahead and edit it.so they put it on the dyno and the thing overboosted and spluterred all over the place. it turns out that by removing the rear muffler, the car had been running lean and cooked the spark plugs (hence the gradual decrease in performance)so... with new sparkies in place the car was up and running well, got a total of 240Rwkw at 10psi before the clutch decided to let go as the engine was still going strong. was told that it could go much more.so the guys told me I needed to upgrade the clutch so they had to detune the engine back to 8 psi but they couldnt as it shot back up to 10, problem (boost controler not working) so they had to bypass the boost controller and could only get the car to run at 3 psi. which was safe enough for the clutch and to drive around untill the boost controller was replaced/fixed.so all in all im driving around in a 160rwkw XR6Tuntill the week after next that is :w00t: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
