Yeah the cobra stage 2 would be the ideal. But if I cant get the necessary funds,which would be the choice;

rajab I/C or PWR I/C ????

APS exhaust or SMB dump/cat ????

Currently have the centre muffler removed without hotdogs. Are most people running hotdogs and has anybody changed the rear muffler. If so how has it altered the sound.

So I assume the SMB dump/cat will up the noise level somewhat.

Mike @ Tuffys Alexandria reckons 109db on mine currently.its not that noisy, only burbles on idle or low revs but when you give it some the sound subsides greatly. My mates Ducati runs 108db and that's noisy as !! A hell of a lot more than my car.

cheers guys

PWR IC is a buggar to fit.

I'm not to keen on the Rajab IC after what Vik pointed out earlier about it in the group buy thread, regardless of quality.

The SMB dump and cat will save you some $$$ over the APS exhaust. I'd be happy with either.

My SMB setup makes little to no difference in the noise level of the exhaust. It gives it a slightly different note though.

I'd personally not go with a kit. Actually I've had 2 very quick XR6T's and never had a kit on either. If I was going to start modding an XR6T now here is what I'd do if I'm aiming for 300rwkw's.

1) If 6 spd man I'd strengthen the clutch. If auto I'd have the box strengthened and have a trans cooler fitted. I'd use Kewish who have done all my work.

2) As long as funds allow I'd do all the power mods in one hit to save on tuning costs. Each new mod will require a retune.

Enhanced fuel delivery- 968 injectors and an inline fuel pump. Fit a surge tank if you can afford it.

Remove centre muffler and get a high flow cat. If budget doesn't allow gut the cat.

I'd do a similar CAI as I have with a pod filter in the front guard.

I'd go with either a Rajab, HPF or APS cooler and get it plumbed as efficently as possible.

I like the Nizpro plenum and if funds allow I'd get one of these too.

The most important part is the tune. Obviously I like HPF and wouldn't go any where else. In Melbourne you also have Nizpro who do good work. There's also Simon in WA.

With the tunes you have 3, hee's what I'd get.

1- Detuned, max 3000rpm with minimal boost and power.

2- day to day tune, 98 ron 300rwkw's

3- fun tune, 98-100ron with a booster. I wouldn't go past 320rwkw's without doing internals.

The other thing I would do is fit the best rear tyres I could afford. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's and they are awesome.

This might not be what other people would do but it's what I would do and would probably cost less than a kit and give as good or better performance.

Geea. :spoton:

APS are producing anymore for XR6T? Why not as there will be tones of future customers?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If they just got rid of the door stop(uni-jip) and kept making the rest of there hardware they would have get more customers the stooges

Vec, There will still be APS gear available for the XR6T as I mentioned above they are changing some of the distribution aspects.

The APS gear is still in production and selling very well.

For 300rwkw you'd want to considering doing the exhaust and intercooler which is what stage 3 kit will provide.

If you want quality hardware then APS is the way to go. It's engineered excellence. Making 300rwkw with a car with such a big turbo is easy, it's how you do it that matters :3gears:

Does it still cost 10k to get 300kw's?? :spoton:

As far as modifications are concerned the XR6T is relatively cheap.

Try getting 300rwkw out of a STI for similar prices.

You can use cheap components, but they most deifinately aren't well engineered, legal or capable of delivering optimum performance.
