My dissapointment was with people on this forum condeming the guy soley on the basis he took petrol. That in itself doesn't mean he should be killed. Unfortunately some people here thought so.

As more reports come to light, it seems there is much more to the story and the shooting was most probably justified.

Being a cop is a thankless job made worse by todays societies lack of respect for them. It doesn't help when the courts let the crims go with *beep* all penalties.

Anyone that attacks a police officer obviously has a complete disregard for the law and is a danger to society. If i was the cop, in the middle of no-where with a crim punching the crap out of me i would have shot the f*cker too.

Geea. :glad:

maybe I was reading a different thread to you, because everyones comments I read (other than yours) was condemming the guy for beating the cop to near death. it was the cop that pulled him up for not paying for petrol.

It goes to show you how tough a job our cops have.

The cop thought he was pulling over some petrol theif and most likely expected a straight forward arrest, but instead got an aggressive double murderer who was not going to go quietly. I would also assume that any backup would be many minutes away. It would be a nightmare situation that ended with the good guy still being alive.

I would bet the guy has no intention of being arrested and has paid for it with his life.

All I can say is WELL DONE Mr Policeman, you have handled a bad situation with the only option you had. I wish you a speedy recovery from your injuries and hope you can get over the memory of this shooting, because you did the right thing.

I hope he gets a medal for his actions

Fair suck of the sauce bottle!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like everyone’s an expert of police brutality here???

I am the last person to stand-up for a copper as I’ve had my fair share of tickets over the years but fair dinkum this is no speeding offence here..

This guy is wanted for a Double Murder in Vic.. 3 days prior to this!!

His past record states assaulting a Police officer

Rape,

Burglary

Assault one was an old lady.

Etc etc

I’d say the copper feared for his own life during the assault and attempted arrest and as such it came to Kill or be killed.

Word has it, it was all routine until the copper called for a Truck to tow the car back to town, and at this point the dead man lost the plot and went crazy and assaulted the officer which led to his death.

The sad part about all this is the family of the two girls who were killed in Victoria are going through hell at present as you can imagine have two daughters raped and Murdered together.

Very Tragic indeed and I’m pissed off that anyone that thinks this copper was just out to shoot someone for taking $80.00 worth of fuel!!!! He is lucky he wasn’t the 3 person killed by this ass-hole in as many days.

At the end of the day - a murdering rapist has got what he deserves - and in a way it is lucky that events unfolded as they did. It os just a shame for the policeman.
