I burnt out 2 normal "CATS" in my REX from running rich. These eliminate that happening. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

[post="342579"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
id like to know where u get your info from... they dont have a metal core at all. its that funky lookin brown honey comb stuff but looks heaps different to other designs ive seen. 260 is a good price, i got mine for $300 posted through a nissan silvia group buy. its a flick to install, just weld it to your dump pipe, then weld a 3.5' "y" adaptor to it so it goes back into your factory twins. i could notice a TINY TINY difference in throttle responce, but i guess its major changes are made high in the revs under full load. all in all, i think their great Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If these are only like the magic, i believe the magic still flow better. 534 CFM for Metal Cat 754 CFM for Magic cat Magic cat is smaller, lighter, cheaper and newer technology. galconn Member 101 Member For: 19y 7m 10d Posted 31/01/06 10:31 AM Share Posted 31/01/06 10:31 AM I installed a 3" metal cat some months ago and as trolly indicated it will need a transition 'Y' piece to connect to factory exhaust leading into centre muffler. I went for the 3" because it could handle the flow rate as well as not needing an expansion piece to connect to the dump pipe. Because the lagging was removed from around the exhaust pipe and original cat forward of the centre muffler, I had a heat shield plate (inverted U shape) placed between the exhaust pipe and the undercarriage (foot well) about 700mm long covering the cat and the section of exhaust pipe under the drivers feet/seat area. It was secured using existing resilient support brackets with an extra support welded onto the bend in the dump pipe before the cat. Hope this helps. Power gain was about 5RWKW. Would be interested to know how a 3 1/2" performs. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
