Gday All

Car went into a ford dealer yesterday to be fitted with the herrod quad output full stainless exhaust system.

Although the car defenitly looks better than the old system  , as soon as I picked it up I noticed the left side sticks out further than the right (its hard to see in the pics but it stands out like f*ck when you see it in person). And I think they both protrude too far from the rear of the car (I already have a third degree burn on my leg to prove that). And the left one hangs lower than the right. :smilielol:

When I asked them about this they said all the systems are like this because the left pipe has to go around the control blade irs. They said every ba they have fitted is like this. Does anyone know if that's true?? Im sure ive seen it on other cars and it doesnt stick out that far!!! Anyone got pics??

And I even specifically said to the guy, did you take it for a run to listen for any rattles?? Yeah its fine. After 30 seconds in the car I could hear a rattle. And its not quiet either, sound like its rubbing on something every time the car bounces.

I plan on taking it back, because when I pay that much of my :stirthepot: bloody hard earned cash for an exhaust system, I expect it to be :stirthepot: perfect.

In fact I would of left it with them, if I hadnt been waiting for 2 and a half hours longer than when they said to come in and pick it up!!!

Cheers

To fit an exhaust like they have to your car sounds very sloppy. I would not be happy at all with that ford dealer! Btw the system looks awesome. Just love the quad pipes!!

Yeah I can see in the pics it just doesnt look right. I have seen a few cars with this mod and the all looked great... couldnt really fault them. I reckon the contacting Herrods idea is a good one.

Does the system normally use standard mounting brackets and points?

I would have thought that the fitting wouldnt allow for the low and proud fitting of the left pipes?

Have a look at where the mounts are - and whether they have any room for movement, or error of placement - as that will determine whether the pipes manufacture, or the fitting are at fault.

At the end of the day - if you arnt happy - they should really sort it out, I take it they sold and fitted the system?

I just emailed Herrod with a tidied up version of my first post. I asked them to set the dealer straight before I go back there. I also offered to take the car down to Herrod in thomastown so they could have a look.

To tell you all the truth I really dont want it to go back to this unnamed dealer because I dont think they know sweel f*ck all about what they are doing. That and I was offended by the way they handled my questions, effectivly disregarding my comments completly and assuming I dont know sweet f*ck all.

That and if they decide to look me in the eye and bullsh*t to my face again, ill end up on an assault charge.
