Not many will get to the track for either 1/4 mile or circuit racing. That being said a modified auto will always beat a similarly powered manual at traffic light duels. If anyone would like to argue I'm happy to meet any (REPEAT ANY) manual T owners at a set of lights and run to the speed limit. This is what most people will be concerned about when wondering if they are quicker than the next car. The same could be said for that favorite bit of twisty road. In the end get what makes you feel good but if you want to win traffic light duels buy an auto. Geea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>no one is arguing that point... of the line (one manual one auto, both with lets say 280 rwkw) the auto will win, no contest... everyone knows that... but at 80kph on the roll as you suggested, you would not have that huge advantage anymore of the take off.modified autos are quicker off the line and make for the best 1/4 mile car unmodified the manual is quicker <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You in Sydney Jet...we could put this to bed once and for all

They bought a auto for a reason. And we have Geea to stick up for them! People who owns manuals love them. And some manual drivers are calling auto drivers boring. Which is stirring the pot even faster, not fixing anything. And also claiming a unmodded manual will beat a auto any day....... which has yet to be officially documented for all to see.You will never get a clear and cut winner, because somebody will always argue the point. It all comes down to personal preference, and what your plans are with the car. I dont know which part you want to put to bed though??dont tell me auto drivers are getting upset that I said on the roll the auto has lost its 1 big advantage MS700... spot on except for the part where you say manual drivers call auto drivers boring.. that's not stiring the pot, its true naahhh, we actually say that cause we as manual drivers know that at the red lights you will whip our buts, simple as that.. have to have something to annoy you guys with

I just said there arent many stock autos that go down the quarter quicker than my gear changes... and I'm pretty sure that is true! I know there are a few... but not many. Its funny how people put their own spin on what "was said" to try and make a point... its a common technique that journalists use... Apparently the weight of the Winnie Reds in their shirt sleeve weighs the right arm down so far that it drags on the road
