A 300rwkw auto will nearly see an  11 where a 300rwkw manual will still be in the high 12's low 13's :bump:  If your a track junkie.....reverse it :bump:

and get both auto and manual 300rwkw cars and get them to do 5 laps around bathurst.... the auto will be a half a lap behind :bump:

horses for courses :bump:

I'd like to see what shape a T would be in after 5 hot laps around Bathurst manual or auto. The big thing that turned me off the manual was driveline shunt. If your going to buy a manual theres a fair chance your going to end up with it.

Not that easy to get a race around bathurst to often but you come across traffic light duels all the time :bump:

I garee...

however I get more offers for a race travelling on th e freeway at 100kmh then I do at a set of lights. There arent too many times that im lucky enough to line someone up at a set of lights. On the go is a diffrent story and also evens the game up as the autos big advantage is gone.

and agree again... buy what you like, not what some1 else does :bump:

If its a better all around gearbox your after, I think most people would agree with this, best to worst-

6 Speed Auto,

6 Speed Manual,

4 Speed Auto,

5 Speed Manual

If its modification Value for money, Then the 4 Speed auto would be the best, as there's not really any data on modifying the 6 speed auto as yet!

Either way, the 5 speed Manual is sh*t!

I'm a manual man through and through but IF the reports by MOTOR and WHEELS on their trips in the new 6spd Auto phoons in the Vic Alps are true, I'm defintely going to test one out; but I'll be demanding a drive along the old pacific hwy to see how it behaves. I would only consider an auto on a turbo anyway. On a NA car it is always manual. Of course why we can't get an affordable sequential manual in an Aussie car is upsetting, as this is the ultimate IMO.
