I've read so many different reviews on these two vehicles and none seem to have a consensus on the fuel consupmtion of the two. Does anyone have an opinion on how the XR6 Turbo compares to the XR8 on the fuel situation. How many city k's do you get out of a tank of each??

T way more economical... We get 298K's out of a tank by the trip computer and it drinks 21.9 litres/100km also according to trip computer. It is all city driving and to give u an idea we have to fill approx 2.5 times in a week sumtimes more. We have gotten it down to 14 litres/100km on a very long and sedate country drive but.

Yep the 8's can drink some juice alright, I'm a bit off topic with the BF & ZF auto box, but I've been averaging 15L's around city with a fair bit of throttle action and down as low as 9.0L (believe it or not) on highway driving it nicely.

If you are driving Miss Daisy around, I think the T will come out in front.

My last 4 tanks averaged about 13l/100kms.

About 520kms per tank if you run it out.

If you give it a bit around town this figure will easily go into the 20s... :sleepystuff:

it all depends on how you drive them :innocent:

My average is 450k's per tank (or 14L/100) with an average speed of 43kph.

On long interstate trips I get over 600k's per tank

During my FPV track day I did 71k's on 3/4 of a tank (48.7L/100) with an average speed of 33kph :kissmy: but boy was that FUN :nono:

Bottom line is if you drive them both soft the T will win for sure, but even then its all up to the driver on what economy you get :sleepystuff:

Well, I have not done to many long trips in my XR6T BF yet, but driving my previous XR6 BA from Melbourne to Gold Coast and I got my best average of 10.5litres/100km (after resetting the trip computer before starting out) over 2100kms one way. To date, my best average was about 10.5litres/100km in my XR6T BF over about 500kms.
