when I bought my new t 6 months ago I put a new heavy duty exedy clutch in for the reason that I do abit of towing for work...

since then I have prob used it 3 times for towing and the rest of the time its work use....

then 2day I had 2 mates in the back seat and when I was on a hill the clutch started to slip..

do u think this is warranty from exedy or just tough luck 4 me as its only been 7000kms since it was installed?

A mate of mine got a no questions asked Ford warrantee new clutch after he killed his in just 11,000km.

A clutch is always hard to win an argument over since 20 seconds of abue can do serious damage - but that amazed me!

Whats interesting is we both drive hard - me a bit harder than him (by normal standards I drive very hard), and mine lasted 2 years and 35,000km no problem.

I think chances are you either had a dodgy clutch, or you are dragging the clutch when you accelerate while you take off.

This will all depend on your driving habits!!!

Do you ride the clutch, keep your foot on the clutch pedal, change up gears & keep the revs into it etc.???

All these will cause excessive wear.

The quickest way to fry a clutch is to release the pressure at high revs.

A leaking oil seal can cause the same problem, but you'd more than likely see oil around the bell housing.

You're not gonna know what to do until the clutch comes out, then you'll see what the cause is

ive heard dodgy things about exedy before, try and get a replacement for free, but if worse comes to worse and u gotta pay out of your own pocket, give xtreme clutch in adelaide a call. they were awesome with helping me out and made me a custom clutch up in 3 days and its handled everything I can throw at it :spoton:
