I have been looking for the past 2 weeks, spoke to hundreds of people from car sales and car point, seen maybe 25 go through various auctions in Australia.

I would offer $24K as my highest.

As for car sales etc, what they advertsie at and what they sell for are 2 very different things.

Auctions are a bit different though. Maybe offering $24k is why you're still looking

that's excatly why he's still looking. I thought the way you told cooltint he sold his T for "5 grand more than you can pick them up for" you must have already found a mint condition T for 23 grand. :hohum:

My 04/04 T with all the stuff in my sig was traded for $29k, but the original offer was $26k.

The dealers will always offer you wholesale price for a trade and then discount the new car. I figure I got over $5k off the new car price, so it all worked out fair. I guess you could say I got $34k for a trade and paid retail for the car, either way you will get screwed on tradeing.

I know it may shock some, but they aren't worth what people think they are.

Auctions, car yard, makes no difference. Still get the warranty. In fact, you will find car yards are cheaper then private sales on t's atm.

11/04 BAMKII XR6T, 40,000kms, Red, Sunroof, Prem, Leather. Went today for $24,500. I have seen plenty of series 1's go for low 20's.

If people can get alot more, good luck, I'm just stating what people can get them for.
