6 months ago the dealers would only offer me 27k... same vintage as yours with similar kms

Now I would be surprised if you could get more than 26k privately. You do have the leather seats going in your favour though. Check carsales.com.au... should give you a good indication

Try carsales, put in that it's a 2004 and see what you come up with.

I know it's a pain cos I was trying to sell mine, even though it rolled off the line on 24th december 03, it's still an '03 and hence lower value than an 04...

I decided the car was worth more for me to keep it, I'll look at getting a home loan in about a year and put the rest I owe onto the loan.

Just before Christmas, a local dealer offered me $25,800 trade in on a stock 12/03 Black T (auto, tint, towpack, premium sound, new tyres, 12 months rego, 56k) against a runout BA Mk II.

So with your extras and mileage, I'd have thought $26k+ would be on the money.

thanx guys.

xxxr6t, I tried doing this when I got my home (putting the car loan on top of my home loan) and they did not allow me to do it. it had to be separate. you may want to look into this.

You can put your car on your housing loan, but you need to have the equity in the property first and once done, be sure that the total value of the loan does not exceed 95% (less in with some companies) of the value of the property.

Glass' Guide thru Carpoint says $24k-$29k for a private sale 2003 and $23k-$27k trade, which allows for condition, k's etc.

I would advertise privately for $28,900 and go from there  As we all know changeover is the real guide to trade in success so trade in value depends on what sort of deal you're getting on the new one.
