I must say I find the pricing on these cars all over the place.

I ended up with a Sep 05 BA with leather, sunroof, tint and mats for 54k drive away...so if you take the options off the car that comes down to about 48.5k

Is the Auto worth an extra 10K ?? yeh maybe. How can FPV afford to discount these cars so much. If you take my 48.5k that's around a 20k discount. No wonder the price of new cars drops so much in the first 12 months.

I tossed with the idea of waiting for the BF but at that time no dealer even had pricing for the BF, however I was constantly told they (FPV dealers) would not discount these cars in the 1st year of sale.. Looks like its fairly common place to get a 10k discount already.

Is it that hard to get them to discount, or do they say "that will be 70k thanks" and then you simply say...."ummm what about a discount", then it's hang on I'll check. Then come back to you and its now "that will be 60k thanks"

I really wonder if any poor punter has paid full wack on a new F6

Hi Gavin

Thanx for your vote, but I've already bought my car (option 3). I've had it for a couple of weeks now and it's fantastic. I can easily justify the extra $50 per week it costs me over the Phantom T.

Hi RapidF6Typhoon,

You did really well buying your car @ that price and if you are happy with the manual it's a bargain, but I wanted the 6spd Auto.

If you apply the same principle to my car of taking away the options, my car was $55,500 including the Auto $1,250 plus $500 Freight (they really wanted me to buy the one they had on the lot), $3,000 Dealer delivery and on road costs. So the driveaway price for an '05 plate manual would have been $53,750.

Bear in mind this is not just something that happened over night. I have been researching, negotiating and haggling over this car for a couple of months now. I don't think you could have just walked in off the street and got it for that price. I had to work pretty hard to get this deal or should I say the dealer had to work pretty hard to get this deal. You see it's pretty hard to sell a salesman.

Even though they are both '05 plates, the BF is still considered a new model and hopefully worth more come resale time. That's the way I justified it anyway.

Either way you look at it they're both great cars.

Regards

Big AL
