Folks,

Has anyone else experienced continous issues with their Airbag system ?....Mine has just faulted again for the 7th time (over the past 2 years). It was only supposedly just fixed at my last service 60k 2 weeks ago.

The last 3 occasions, the dealer has indicated that they have added a new earthing strap....3 times ? which I find a little suspect.

What does one do now ?....I'm frustrated in having to take it to a dealer each time....Can I hassle Ford direct ?...What are my options to try and get a satisfactory resolution...

Thanks for any help guys.

It may be a simple sensor fault... not the bag itself... maybe they are looking in the wrong place?!?

Try a different dealer if you get no joy.

The wds unit they use should pick up the fault.

Besides a couple of sensors there is the air bags themselves, the clock spring in the sterring and the seat belts.

I have a problem with the airbags where the dash light stays on after starting, which indicates a fault and also disables the airbag system. The ford W*nkers said the computer pointed to the drivers side, side airbag (which is not fitted) wiring loom which connects under the driver seat, probably a bad connection. They too have attempted to fix it on many occasions but without any success.

I guess we can only live in hope!

Good luck

Could be many things.

I know when I had my passengers seat out, the airbag light came on, because the passenger's seatbelt preloader/tensioner thingo was unplugged.

If you check the dash theres an airbag warning light.. but then again you wouldn't think of that because if you did you'd know the car was in D!!!:k24t::clap::k24t::huh::blink::blink: LOLLLLL
