Just wondering if anyone knows if the NSW Police are going to get the 6 speed box on their BF XR6 Turbos.

As this might be a cheap way of getting your hands on one depending on the condion ofcourse.

If they start comming through the govt auctions going for mid 20s with 40kms on the clock and premium brakes they might be a viable option.

The 6 speed auto is an optional extra and you can no longer get the 4 speed in a xr6T or an xr8.

Bloan, in the mk2 the auto's were the same price, but since the BF and the intro of the 6 speed auto, they slug you an extra $1200 or thereabouts.

apparently in ford talk yes but they reckon about 15k to make it happen in other words sell your car and buy a bF.

Ford full of sh*t I reckon within 2 years it will be less than $3000 mod.

The floorpan isn't even the same. The BF is different to accomadate the ZF. The only real way to run a ZF in a BA is to get a complete engine, trans, water to air tansmission oil cooler, wiring loom, ECU and everything else needed to get it to work on the BA, plus then you need to modify the floor pan. 15K easily. Way cheaper to just upgrade.
