Has anyone got 18's or 19's and lowered the car ridiculously? Is ther much camber and if so has anyone put in a camber kit? Did the camber kit do much?

Nesh

No Nesh, I had 19's with King Springs on it SSL rears and SL front to level it out. Only had a wheel balance when I put the springs in, never needed touching it after that. Also had an APS exhaust which made it lower again as that became the lowest point on the car. Took speedhumps carefully, besides that no probs.

Cheers

ive just purchased a kmac camber/castor kit. the insides of my fronts have wire hanging out and the tires still got 60% tread. this is after 2 so called "wheel alignments" carried out by the ford monkeys.

The front height is perfect but im looking to slam her in the ass end as low as I can go. The closer to the rim the better. Im thinking about just getting the springs compressed or buying king springs and getting them compressed. Im jus worried bout camber coz tyres are expensive when there is camber. Like the holdens when you slam them and put a camber kit in it does bugger and I dont want to spend money on a camber kit if its not gona do anything

The camber can be adjusted on the rear of the XR when a wheel alignment is done. I think the major factor that you need to consider when lowering the rear alot is the small bump stops that are located on the suspension arms. How much will need to be cut off them and what clearances/travel you'll have after it's done. With the SSL's the bump stops have to be trimed but with compressing them again they might have to be removed all together.

If you lower the front with SL you should be fine. I have SSL in the front and my camber is almost negative 1.5 degrees. My insides wear out alot quicker than the rest but having 19's and my driving style dosnt help. The camber kit will fix it though if set up right.

So its the front that camber on the BA's not the back? So you need a camber kit for the front?

Trough Lolly when you get the kit put in can you tell me if it makes it perfectly straight or near perfect. Thanx

That depends on who you talk with. Cro for example will tell you to make sure your tire pressure is correct first, then a camber kit if still needed. :)
