that's the plate I have, it actually has about 15-20 little 1.8 rivet size holes in it! Any less would be undrivable! Its a straight bolt on plate to fit my exhaust! He looked under the car but didn't notice the plate :) Then I failed :(

Just a little hint....

Talking about ways to dodge the test on an open forum isnt going about it the right way....just as easy to dodge the figures if they know about what your upto.

DRK did you keep your stock exhaust? It may be your only option... if you didn't maybe someone here still has theirs and you can borrow it for the test...

Sorry to hear you failed mate... it's only 1dB... what a *beep*.

If you go thru the EPA noise test and fail, come back with the same exhaust system, no obvious muffler changes except for this strange plate that is detectable to the eye with a quick glance then I would fail you by 1db also.

I think if you try and play that game, they will also. I think they hate it most when someone tries to pull the wool over their eyes rather then putting the cards on the table.

The best way to set it up is to have a removabe muffler using flanges with one being the performance one and another being a heavily baffled one which you use to pass the test.
