Hi All,

Been studying some studio photography techniques and had a wild idea for something that would be good on a few walls, a FordXr6turbo.com 2007 Calendar.

I was thinking of getting 12 volunteers (willing to surrender there automobiles to my photographical prowess) hiring a studio like the ones used by Wheels and Motor when they shoot their cars underlights. After taking all the photos required passing on those finalised proofs to a company specialising in making calendars and having it colated into one 2007 Calendar.

Costs to be determined and I'd ask (if theres enough interest) for some donations to cover studio hire and production costs with any profits donated back too the site.

I'm sure it's something that could do well (even in the commercial market) with the XR6 Turbo and Typhoons and Tornados being such popular product.

So I ask of the members and admin/mod team now, do you think it would be something worthwhile doing?

Hit me back, I'm willing to answer any questions regarding it.

Cheers,

Matt

A studio with lighting set's etc would get pretty expensive wouldnt it?

I'd say you'd be getting up round 5k+ for an all day shoot...

Knowing the quality of your photo's some outdoor stuff would be just as good if not better with a bit of scenery around it.

Just an idea but what if each state was to chip in for you to take a weekend flight and get together for group shots and maybe a poll to pick some car's or shots we'd like to see on the calendar....

My Boyfriend used to be a printer and I have asked this question many times about making a calender (not only for this group).

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You used to date a printer?? What is he now, a Xerox machine?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

 yeah that's what you call a person that runs a printing machine - you call them a printer.

Getting models in QLD for me is no problem, interstate could be a drama... I know quite a few models which generally will charge their time out for some good quality pictures or prints.

I understand the concern about the printing costs... something to be looked into.

As for studio hire... I'm working through the possibility in creating a working studio in one of my fathers work sheds... it's plenty big enough for an sized car and light rig... however it would mean bringing the cars to the location...

However, outdoors shots are still possible... still food for thought at this stage. :)

Good positive feedback though... we'll get something out...

Cheers,

Matt

I found it amusing but maybe because it was a bit cerebral. Are the Farrelly Brothers more you sense of humour?

Then again I found something on another forum about myself most amusing when you threatened to sue for Libel so maybe you don't have a sense of humour?

I see you're deleting away like crazy already

Lumpy, get over it........

I have the right not be treated like a piece of sh*t. So if I dont like something, I'll bloody tell you about it.

What is sue for libel??

Woah, steady on. It was just a bit of light humour... Chill the F' out

But yeah, good idea Mattson. Gonna be pricey though I'd imagine.

Is it expensive to hire some bikini models to pose with the cars?

bikini models - nuh uhhh

wanna see the cars in their entirety. You need to keep in mind that there are lots of wives, girlfriends and kids associated with this forum. Just about every car calender has a half naked female on it. :tease:

If you need people use the real ones who own and drive the cars.

BE ORIGINAL

Mattsons photography is brilliant, and more so unique by his ability to capture an ambience in the great outdoors.

with some planning and quick moving TOP IDEA!!

What are the legalities??

shazzy

I think its a top idea
