I don't care what they call it, but I think the "XR" thing should be left to the falcons. They even used the same badge as the XR6 Turbo. :spoton:

XR isn't just an aussie or falcon thing thing however glenn. There have been XR4's in the UK (Merkurs in the US), XR2 Capris. XR7 Cougars (Flash Mustangs)...It's a ford fast car heritage thing rather than an Australian 1990's+ falcon thing...

Lumpy

Would be great hot hatch, the focus has always been praised for its handling and with a decent engine it will be a go'er. the only thing that puts me off is that its front steer, and once modded the torque steer might get a little nasty.

It wont sell, so who cares.. same problems as the ST170 its front wheel drive and it is obviously targeting males <30 and none of them that I know would pay near 40k for a focus. problem is that you are not to far away from some better new cars and you are right in the thick of the fight when it comes to second hand cars... nice try but it just wont sell

that's a pretty brave comment, judging by the sales of the Golf GTI I can't see why it won't sell very well. The reason the ST170 didn't sell was because it was gutless. The XR5 is a lot quicker and has been well praised by European media.
