done a test with my last tank full, I done 579klms, made up of 470 highway and the rest around town, I did not up it once,(first time I have made it through a hole tank with out flogging it) and the car took 59lts to fill to the tip, I think I would have easly got 600k's out of it if it was all highway.

15.5/16l per 100k's on a 15psi Xtreme tune. im extatic with that fuel economy because of the previous tune p*ss poor setup (19 to 20 ltrs per 100k's) i am a guilty of giving it a little squite every now and then........(ok ok all the time....)

Okay I've read all these posts... I have the BA XR6T, I chew a sh*t load of fuel and just drive average km's per week around 300 to 400 a week to work and back and a bit of weekend driving....

Here's the deal.... I realise everyone's driving patterns are different, hence the different fuel consumption rates, but seriously, what's the best way to drive this car for maximum fuel efficiency. I mean should I be using triptronic mode?

Is triptronic mode more efficient than normal auto driving?

THanks

Steven

14 L/100 Kms around town

18 L/100 Kms around town when it's getting a flogging

10-11 L/100 Kms on the open road.

The cars only got 2200 kms on it at the moment so hopefully it will improve a bit when I get a few more kms on it.

I have kept a log of all fuel fills with mine since delivery in October 2004. I created an access database that produces various reports. This one is a graph of all the fills dropped into a MS Word file. I live in a country town in WA.

The graph shows an obvious distinction between around town and highway driving. Included is a trip across the Nullabor to Melbourne and back. I have done quite a few trips to Perth as well.fuel.doc

I drive reasonably conservatively but have been known to give it a bit, particularly when passing road trains - working on the theory of being on the wrong side of the road for a minimum of time.

Hopefully this uploads OK because MS Word is not working on this computer

went up to jambaroo today with a few of my friends. figure I'd test out how the T handles in highway driving. filled up 50 bux worth of fuel in the morning, saved $1.75 using the coupon ^^. as soon as we got onto the highway I was amazed at the power and smoothness of the T (compared to an 2000 tarago :) ) the acceleration was smooth and effortless, as was the ride, and I arrived 1.5 hours later at jambaroo with no problems at all. driving for a while and found a nice stretch of road with no body on it, so I thought what the heck. put it in performance mode and floored it, it easily climbed to 180 and no shakiness at all. same good T handling on the way back, and most of all, only used half a tank of gas all up there and back, about 200kms :S
