Shockwave-T Member 96 Member For: 19y 7m 2d Location: Melbourne Posted 31/01/06 06:09 AM Share Posted 31/01/06 06:09 AM as the title says I was lucky enough 2 have an evo6 sitting infront of me at the lights. me and 3 mates in my auto ba T were pretty hyped. as the lights turned green, he began 2 pull away a little, but once he was in 2nd he just left me almost 3 car lengths behind, 3rd gear and I was able 2 catch up again (in tiptronic mode). is this due to the weight, or can I just not beat him? mine was stock. his most likely had the usual mods, blow off, exhaust yada yada, however black smoke was pouring from his tail! that about somes up my day. anyone with similar encounters? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You caught up in third because he backed off. The acceleration on Evo's doesn't let up, even if it's well over 200kmh. My mate's Evo 8 has exhaust, CAI and ECU mods and "only" 183awkw (they had 199fwkw standard) and he chomped me, even with a dodgy start (they bog down easily unless you really abuse the clutch) where I was ahead in first gear. Started out at 80km/h and we both gave it to em from there. At 200km/h it was 2 car lengths out and revving its *beep* out! Found out it runs 240kw at all fours.I was impressed! Being a test and tune I wasn't really worried and being my first run down the quarter. He was about 3 car lengths on me near instantly, by the end of 2nd gear I was probably a car in front and the absolute arse whooping didn't stop from there with daylight through the higher gears. They (EVO club guys) were amazed a taxi could go that quick! That was a 12.7 @ 117MPH run.
