hi guys, ive just filled up my 2nd tank of gas with vortex premium. deciding to save money on fuel ive been driving my auto ba very carefully, keeping it shifting below 2k rpms so turbo doesnt kick in. I then remembered reading in the manual that it said the most fuel efficient speeds are between 60-100km/hr. just wanted to know how you guys have been driving, and whether the manuals right or wrong.

Its easy in a manual, keep the revs below 2000rpm and skip every second gear and switch the a/c off. I did this for a week and averaged 10.5 in the city.

Remove spare tyre, rear seat, front passenger seat, carpet, door trim, stereo. Don't use air-con (actually, remove that too). wind your windows up and if you have one, keep the sunroof closed. Pump your tyres up to 50psi.

Use 1/8 throttle and make sure the car stays off boost.

And to add:

Remove rear spoiler, remove exterior mirrors, fill in handles, wax car regulary.

You could even go to extremes, if you have removed your spare wheel, you could cut your boot floor out, and probably the majority of the rear passenger metal also.

Dont take Dags' idea, that's too boring. Our suggestion is much better! :spoton:

....and remove the Ford badge from the boot and have the indent re-welded.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Pffft, dont do that, only really big :spoton: 's do that kinda sh!t.

Sorry I was off on my own agenda... :drunk:

Park on a hill, travel downwind as much as possible, put a giant magnet on the front of your car and use the magnetic field to pull you toward the car in front of you or go to the next step and hang a powerful magnet in front of your car you could get a perpetual motion machine...

Take some pointers from these guy's:

that's a much better idea Dags.

In the future, if you could please refrain from posting "sensible" replies, that would be much appreciated! :spoton:

Yamaha came up with Jetpilot. It was originaly jet ski gear but now they make it for motocross and all sorts of apparel.

You mean it has even less significance than a Ralliart sticker? Lucky I’ve got both I guess. :idunno:

Re one of the comments above "a dove".

Laugh you may but lucky I had the lower grill. Hit a crow and that pushed the lower grill in but never got to the intercooler.

When I got home staightened it with a hammer and block of wood, quick spray of black and put the grill back in position.

The grill was the open holed flat laser cut version, not the perforated mesh with the small holes. So it was easy to repair and not replace.
