Only if its a Voltswagen Bettle, that bug will do some damage.

I have driven through a couple of of locust clouds and while it made quite a mess the kamakzi bugs never covered enough of the cooler to make a difference. took quite a while to get them all out, was still finding them weeks later.

hi guys, ive just filled up my 2nd tank of gas with vortex premium. deciding to save money on fuel ive been driving my auto ba very carefully, keeping it shifting below 2k rpms so turbo doesnt kick in. I then remembered reading in the manual that it said the most fuel efficient speeds are between 60-100km/hr. just wanted to know how you guys have been driving, and whether the manuals right or wrong.

Remove spare tyre, rear seat, front passenger seat, carpet, door trim, stereo. Don't use air-con (actually, remove that too). wind your windows up and if you have one, keep the sunroof closed. Pump your tyres up to 50psi.

Use 1/8 throttle and make sure the car stays off boost.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And to add:

Remove rear spoiler, remove exterior mirrors, fill in handles, wax car regulary.

You could even go to extremes, if you have removed your spare wheel, you could cut your boot floor out, and probably the majority of the rear passenger metal also.

Dont take Dags' idea, that's too boring. Our suggestion is much better! :spoton:

....and remove the Ford badge from the boot and have the indent re-welded.

you lose about 10kw per bug

lol

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Can this loss be offset by putting some "nizmo", "HKS", etc decals all over the car? all the fast cars seem to have them, I was wondering how much power each decal is worth, on average, I know the big ones will add more power, but how much?

I feel I could be so much faster with a few here and there.

Oh, does colour make a difference too, cause I can get them in red or white?

No you need the Jetpilot sticker. More commonly found on a beat-up old holden, but would have the same performance gain on a ford. :spoton:

Oh please I live just off toorak road and you can set your watch to the first bogan that cruises down from the suburbs with a jetpilot sticker and a p plate on friday night. I am a bogan from the suburbs, but that's a different story. . . .

Sorry buddy, my CEO pays for my fuel. And I make sure he pays for it.

What I would be curious to know is the percentage that know what it is, where it came from, and have ever ridden one. :spoton:

I found the most economic speed to be 81km/hr. Just when the overdrive kicks in. Boring but I had time to spare on a trip one day.

Travel with the cruise on the highway saves on fuel and speeding fines. Having the auto change under 2000 rpm could help but remember when yuor at 100klm/hr your at 2000 rpm anyway, unlike the NA version at 1750 rpm.

My worst 12.9/100, and the best over 520km was 9.85/100 on cruise.

I tend to agree with others that you don't buy a T and then look to save money on fuel, otherwise you would have bought the NA version.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I had a N/A BA XR6 before I got my T and the economy when on the open road is better with the T than the N/A.

Best out of T 620 k's to a tank.

Best out of N/A 580 k's

The N/A also cruised at 2000 rpm like the T it's the XT's and fairmonts etc that have the taller diff which gives the 1750 RPM at 100.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Admidedly, cruise control on 110kph/6th gear in the t is fantastically economical.

To save fuel, I go everywhere flat out, so I get there quicker, so I can turn the car off earlier, which saves me fuel :msm:  :spoton:

Depends how you look at it, you're having a hell of a fun time during those few 300kms per tank I bet, ahh, it's all good.
