From what I understand, and I'm happy to be corrected on this, tolly will make an engine read a little leaner then regular fuel, like ethanol fuel does, and I have been told by a few people up to 20% is safe, any more and atrip on the dyno to check AFR etc would be recomended.

A local concrete pettern/stamping supply mob sell it alot cheaper than the fuel retailers, they use it to clean molds and thin the coatings, most will have it in 20lt drums.

lets see, half a tank of Boost 98, and 10 liters of tolly.

that would give just over 20% total of fuel mix tolly.

I know that Nulon Pro strenght 500m to 35 liter makes about 8 rwkw difference, lest see what the tolly does.

Dyno Day on Sunday could be fun :spoton:

anyone else keen for a go too.

Is that 8 rwkw with a retune or just off the tune you already have loaded???

You don't get much benefit without retuning the car to suit!

Also can you smell any difference in the exhaust fumes???

If you reckon this stuff makes a difference you should try a mix of Fibreglass hardener.

You might find this article intersecting to read about what it does as an octaane boost: Link - Toluene

BTW- Toluene has an octane of 114 from what I've read, so if you mix is 20% with Optimax extreme I think you'd get it up to about Octane 103.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I was miss informed on the tolly ratio's to octane gian,

With a 10% mix on 98 premium you will gain AROUND 4-4.5 points, should end up about 102-103, depending apon what quality the fuel was in the start.

can anyone tell me if XYLENE is the same as Toluene?

And russ, that was without a tune, just the gain inwhat it had.

very interesting Micka, does the toly cause anly corosion to the injectors like methenol does

Water in methenol is a problem in Methenol only cars, not when its mixed into

ULP/Pulp.

If you have finnished racing for the day you either drain thr fuel tank or top it up to capacity to minimise the surface area of the Methenol has .

Rob

who does not what to be in a pit crew.

picked up 20L of toluene today from the local chemical supplier for 80 bucks... I think I can get it cheaper I just need to shop around some more, should be down around 50 bucks I think... anyways it should be better than other octane boosters, its 120 ron and its supposed to help spool up earlier as has more heat energy too...im gonna mix it up with BP 98, at 10% toluene and see how she runs :roflmbo: its supposed to sweet up to about 25% without any dramas for those hardcore track days etc...

anyone else tried it?

nah its not as bad as it was once thought, but yeah, dont go taking a bath in it or put it in your inhaler, its cool... ordinary unleaded is full of it anyways, so just treat it like you would petrol...
