The 1/4 mile time for the clubby was slow and motor have tested the clubby doing 13.5 for the 400m. Maybe the conditions werent perfect resulting in slower times and if this was the case then if the clubby has done 13.5 in better conditions then what could the F6 do ??

A couple of quotes from the article before the acceleration comparisons get quoted too many times:

"(about the LS2 in this particular Clubbie) because this thing feels flat and won't happily rip to the redline..... unable to pull the numbers we have become accustomed to...."

"(regarding new Yokhohamas against the old Pirellis) One area where the Advans may not be at their best is in the longitudinal acclelerative grip (perhaps a factor in the slower than expected sprint times)..."

Don't get me wrong, the summary of the article "It's just nothing like as good as the other one (F6), that''s all." pretty much says what needs to be said. But the acceleration times for the Clubbie appear to be down compared to previous cars - but I doubt that would have changed the result in the final assessment.

Actually it was a 13.8 something, a time they have yet to match from any F6. Seems that Chevrolet build quality is still totally :spit: , the odds of getting a good one or a bad one are not good. Some fly some suck.

My take is that the F6 really hammered the Club in the comparo... for god's sake they crap on about the Club's tyres for 3 paragraphs. I reckon that when a car is relying on it's tyres (and HSV have changed from the Pirellis) for cornering, they are hiding something.

The F6 is hiding nothing. The engine, gearbox, suspension and chassis is a generation ahead of the Clubsport and Motor, its readers and HSV drivers know it.

They threw the Clubsport a few bones (tyres, V8 rumble, presence) to help appease their Expensive Daewoo readership, inlcuding those who've forked out the best part of 70 gorillas on an R8.

They have said that the F6 is the best Aussie muscle car ever produced. Good enough for me.

Here here, I wish they would just call a Spade a Spade, we all know that the Clubsport's nothing more than an upgraded Ironing Board, the Typhoon should not even be compeared to it any more. Bring on some URO trash!!!!

Lets not get to cocky, Ford have let us down in the past by dropping the V8 and then producing some sh*t cars. Now they are producing some great cars and I for one am very happy. Expensive Daewoo on the other hand it would appear have always remained loyal to the rev head culture (for the want of a better expression). So we have nosed in front, great. I just would not bee to quick in critising Holden.

In my opinion, as Australians we are bloody lucky to have two car manufactueres producing such great cars with in comparison to other countries, great value for money.

My opinion, I have to say though go Ford and lets keep your loyal supportes happy, and yeah lets win a bloody Bathurst or two hey.

Typhoon and Clubbie are as goos as each other, and not a patch on euro stuff, even some jap stuff.

They also quote " On a track or fast road, the HSV would still be the quicker more rewarding car " You go figure how they worked that out, obviously not based on performance figures.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This quote is in an "outbox" entitled Second Opinion. It appears to be thrown in to balance the debate a little and seems to be based solely on perception, rather than anything supported by facts. The writer of this bit even admits this...

Still the Typhoon never feels as ball-tearningly quick as the CS - and it was a big surprise when the boys reported the opposite from their accelleration testing at Oran Park.

As I said before, they threw the Clubsport a few scraps (tyres, V8 rumble, presence) to help appease their Expensive Daewoo readership, inlcuding those who've forked out the best part of 70 large on a Clubbie.

In fact, if it wasn't for the new Advan tyres, half the positive comments about the HSV could not even be written! Makes you wonder how good the Phoon would be with the same tyres?!?!

They have said that the F6 is the best Aussie muscle car ever produced. An awesome result and HSV know it.
