Got the new Motor mag this morning. They love the Phoon - called it the best Australian muscle car ever produced. The Crapsport gets some ticks, too, but geez it relies on its new tryres for grip, as opposed to the Typhoons "integrated package". A good read (if a little short)...

Times: 0-60

Auto Phoon - 3.02

Crapsport - 3.04

Times: 0-100

Auto Phoon - 5.82

Crapsport - 5.78

Times: 0-160

Auto Phoon - 12.47

Crapsport - 12.72

Quarter Mile:

Phoon - 13.95 @ 170km/hr

Crapsport - 14.02 @ 169.8km/hr

Threw in the 0-60 and 0-160 times for interest.

Not bad times but nothing like the figures l read about on the forums. Why is that, l dont get it. Surely a jurno who doesnt own the car and so has little regard for mechanical sympathy should be able to get the best time the car is capable of? l ask before evryone starts saying the F6 should have pulled a 13.2 :fool:

I suppose ultimately it’s a Comparison! not an outright time trial as such.

The point being “ON THE DAY” both cars were tested in the same conditions and these are the results as such.

I’m sure if they specifically went to a drag strip and concentrated on Just times they would be lower as we have seen from other F6’s at the drags with @ 13,2~13,3.

Either way it’s a good result for Ford and the F6 ..even if the F6 has a few less kws it shows its class with the auto and a win. :msm:

Good results :spoton::spoton:

Beause they wanted the best perfomred model in each car... in the Crapsport it was the manual, in the Phoon it was the auto.

An auto Vs auto comparo would have been even worse for the HSV, methinks.

The 1/4 mile time for the clubby was slow and motor have tested the clubby doing 13.5 for the 400m. Maybe the conditions werent perfect resulting in slower times and if this was the case then if the clubby has done 13.5 in better conditions then what could the F6 do ??

Im sure it would be such a terrible job to take the F6 and evan the HSV to Calder and flog them to near death on the Drag strip and racetrack, jeez I can really see why they don't spend much time there...

the clubi is using difrent tyers now and the tyers have bad take of flex so they said this could have ment slower 1/4 mile times.

but they did say the new tyers got it faster around corners and things like that.

makes me think what the phoon would have done if it had better rubber.
