I think Motor have said previously that they test with a full tank and 2 up??

Please flame me if you know otherwise.

Yep - Motor run 2-up; not sure about full tank; but the extra bum will always knock a bit of time off.... Check the comparo between F6 and Clubbie in February Motor. F6 whips it all round...

Motor Magazine has explained why they record slower times than what can be achieved at the drag strip in the August '05 issue.

VBOX vs Drag Strip Times - Ever Beaten MOTOR's Performance Times? This Is Why.

For six months, our new VBox has been pumping out performance numbers, but this was the first time we'd tested it against the beams of a measured track. So why, we were wondering, did the VBox spit out numbers around 0.4 seconds slower than the track timers? Blame roll-out.

At drag meetings, two staging beams - those two white lights on top of the starting tree - mark the start line. The timer starts when the car moves and uncovers the second beam, a distance close to 30cm - what is called roll-out. A hard launching car like the 911 Turbo S is already travelling 7km/h by this distance which translates to a time that's interesting but inaccurate against magazine figures. So while MOTOR's figures are accurate and repeatable, times recorded at a drag strip will always be quicker than our times recorded by the sat-nav based VBox, by around 0.2-0.4 seconds.

For the record the Porsche 911 Turbo S recorded a VBox time of 12.47 and the drag strip time was 11.998 @ 186.29km/h.

I have to say that the V8 Blood is starting to thin. Not only is the typhoon cheaper than the GT it's also a lot faster .. and I like the wheels a lot more ... damn that's depressing :)

Yes, depressing does come to mind..lol  Atleast it's another Ford :spoton:

I do still love my GT however, just want an F6 as well :spoton:

Wheels are the ones who test 2 up and with full tanks. Motor do it one up with around half a tank, which also helps explain why Motors times are always better and more realistic than Wheels slow times.
