Well I always told everyone oneday the auto will come along and destroy the manual, I have always been a auto freak, this is the icing to the cake, I was going to buy a bfphoon but bought a 300grand house, so I will have to continue to drive my eb, until I win lotto.

What 60ft did you get with your 13.2 ? I've told people about your run and they reckon I'm full of crap !

The 60ft was around 1.9sec...The timeslip is posted somewhere on this site.

Most of the people who say your full of crap have never driven a Typhoon..right?

All typhoons have the potential to run a simmilar 13.2..It just takes practice with the takeoff and quick gear changes.

Yes it may be quick in the hands of one of the many enthusiasts here, but just wait and see what the car mags get out of them. Im not saying they cant drive, but their measuring equipment is consistantly slower than the real world drags.

Cant wait to see the first of the modded F6 autos in action down the qtr. A comparo between a HSV Clubbie will be good see as the F6 auto should now be quicker, at long last.

very impressive times. from memory 13.36 is what the VY GTS 300kw ran down the quarter. finally ford has built something to compete.

Yeah, and it's down 30kw and up 200Kg's.

Back in your hole.

turbocorty how many times did your F6 do a 13.2 was it ever backed up?

1.9 is good, the auto did 13.3 on a 2.1 60 foot, a 1.9 60 from the auto would eclipse your 13.2 easily...

1st he must do it..1.9..

The tyres were toyo proxes. Before anyone gets all excited about these 'mods' the driver is quite a hefty bloke who would make up for any of these perceived enchancements.

I have to say that the V8 Blood is starting to thin. Not only is the typhoon cheaper than the GT it's also a lot faster .. and I like the wheels a lot more ... damn that's depressing :)

Hi Habib,

I only took the car to calder once and had three runs.

1st - 13.2

2nd - 13.5 Wheelspin

3rd - 13.8 Wheelspin

Not doubt it is hard to repeat a perfect takeoff with a manual, but once you master it, it should be faster than an auto due to the lower losses in the drive train. Time lost between gear changes is also negligable if you practice!

I believe a manual car will alway be faster if traction is not an issue. I fully agree that a 350kw auto will go down the quarter faster than a manual due to the difficulty in transmitting the power to the ground during takeoff - If both cars are rolling say at 80kl/h any they go for it, I still say the manual would pull away - slightly!

Great cars, both auto and manual

Just to give my opinion TurboCorty, no a manual wont be quicker always with the same power, as an auto will have a shed load more torque on board that the manual wont. Torque is where its at for true driveability.

Ive personally been in two of the Fastest XR6T's in the land, both autos, and ive been in two modded manuals, and I can assure you that the manuals were fun, but the autos thumped them in accelleration. If you can shift like a shift kitted auto, your doing well.

Not saying that all manuals are slower, but in XR6T's just seems to be the way.

BTW, were down at Calder last Friday night in your Corty?
