It's just a filter, not cold air induction either which will do not much more than improve fuel economy on a standard vehicle. Having said that I suppose if anyone wants to get picky....

What a great time for both the owner and the car. It's been a while coming for Ford but I'm pleased we finally have a factory Falcon product that will also perform well at the strip in stock form.

Yes it may be quick in the hands of one of the many enthusiasts here, but just wait and see what the car mags get out of them. Im not saying they cant drive, but their measuring equipment is consistantly slower than the real world drags.

Cant wait to see the first of the modded F6 autos in action down the qtr. A comparo between a HSV Clubbie will be good see as the F6 auto should now be quicker, at long last.

I'm really interested now to see what times MOTOR can get out of the Phoon.

I guarantee they wont get 13.3, not because they cant drive :pinch: , but they use electronic timing gear within the car to measure their ET's.

Corret me if I am wrong, but I believe you get quicker times at the strip because in theory you can be moving before you break the timing lights.

I remember MOTOR a few months ago got an 11.9 out of a Porsche at the strip but their in-car test gear only read a 12.3.

the only head start you get at the drags is the amount your wheels turn to break the beams which on a street car with about 25 inch tyre, that will be 12.5 inch, or about 31cm. so if you shallow stage (that means just set the two lights on and no more. what ever speed you can get to in that 30 cm, that is you head start. now in a street car you don't get much happening in 30cm, so there is not much gain.

the rest of the quarter is an timed run ,so it is as close to perfect as you can get.

if they felt they were getting to much of a head start they could have just moved those few cm further forward untill the lights almost go out, and it would get the right time.

but they would have found that it was still a bit different to there time because the GPS stile timers are out a bit, as much as they would like to think they are right.

but I still beleive the main reason the turbo cars don't get that good of a time is because they are red hot when tested, and that makes a big diff in a turbo car, but not as much with a normaly asperated car. some will say that that's the turbo cars problem, and they are probly right, but that is also why the turbo cars can thrash them on the street, and the drags.

Motor are doing the clubbie Vs F6 thing in the upcomming Feb issue. Should make for interesting reading.

That is a great time and also what I expected for an auto typhoon when driven by someone that likes to thrash.

I don't want to start a manual vs auto argument again, but the manual still seem's to be faster down the quarter (on perfect run that are quite hard to repeat!).

Geat car....I want another one!

My 13.2 was done on the standard 18's..sp9000??

With ET streets, I predicted a flat 13 or even a 12.9999999

Unfortunatly, never hadthe chance to prove it! :crybaby:

What 60ft did you get with your 13.2 ? I've told people about your run and they reckon I'm full of crap !
