Perhaps a higher boost actuator was installed but tuned for a lower level

Actuator work seems to be a standard feature.Have to wonder why ???
rob82 Member 65 Member For: 19y 3m 19d Posted 07/01/06 12:24 AM Share Posted 07/01/06 12:24 AM They upgrade the actuator because they probably cant control the boost properly within the edit. They probably just use a dyno duty cycle and hope that the acuator will hold more of the boost up high. All this actuator upgrade stuff is just BS for stage 1 and stage 2 tunes. Hate to say it but I dont know of many tuning places that can control boost properly.

You have know lost any overboost engine protection. Using a bleed valve is essentially the same thing as what most edits do they set the boost control solenoid to a set duty cycle - so its pretty much just a controlled vent; hence a bleed valve.
