Have you guys had any decent street kills against HSVs? STock or modified?

I had a very interesting encounter with a HSV Coupe 4 a few months back. This thing sounded awesome. I'm not sure what it had done to it but it sounded modified and I could see he was in the mood, as when he hit the accelerator the back end started to come out each time. I thought to myself, looks like he is interested :)

I managed to pull up beside him, pumped the accelerator, gave him the blow off a few times, usual turbo stuff :) We had a clear road in front. I was in 1st doing about 20-30kph (4spd auto) and we both hit it. He jumped ahead initially by just under half a car, but when the turbo got going I was slowly passing him. Once I hit 2nd gear I was about 2 cars in front, and then see ya later. Literally left him and pulling away

Mine is not stock though but neither was his. I have an APS Phase 2 + I/C pumping out 310rwkws. The funny thing was though the very next day I found that this guys car was in carsales.com. Had the same plates. I knew it was modified, and the ad said that it was supercharged and had spent over $40k on it. Made me quite happy indeed :innocent:

I wonder if he put it up for sale after the kill and will end up buying a XR6T or a Typhoon :)

Cheers

Rob

The current HSV Clubsport R8 is 305kW's, using the same DIN kW unit as Ford do.

The current BF XR6T is 245kW's.

Who do you think will be quicker?

Personally I have had some good wins against HSVs in both the T ( 12 sec car)and the Phoon. That said I have been hosed once in each car ( modded) by HSVs both times by farking Maloos, they were obviously modded but sure get up and dance.Hate to say it on a Ford site but me got my arse handed to me. :crybaby:

Stock manual V stock manual the HSV will own the T without too many dramas.

Bring the 6 Speed auto into play and that will even it up a smidge.

Bottom line , you dont know what you are up against at the lights like the M3 driver yesterday :msm: , though it did put up a reasonable show

:msm: HSV means only one thing. Heavy Slow Vehicle keep left unless overtaking :crybaby:

You could say the same about the Ford GT GT-P 290 kw against the XR6T

We all know which is quicker till you reach 230 kmh

I have beeten an vy2ss comie befor I had 4 people in my t and he only had himself in his car.they were both manual 6 speeds. My car from the take of was slower (cause of the extra people and a bad launch)but then I cought up to him and we were dead evan next we both nailed it out of a round about from around 75km/h and I pulled one and half car lengths on him and didnt stop pulling away from him untill I backed off at 160km/h. my car has a cai and an exhaust but I made me feel proud that my car having less power than his stock and hevier still managing to pull some lenghts on him.

I can't get one to look my way, they just cringe, and keep looking the other way.'

and I know its hot up here, but at the drags, unless they have a suercharger they don't seem to break into the 12's, and with edit, exhaust, gears and street slicks, there still running high 13's, the stockers are back in the mid 14's, they just seem to tramp or bog up here.

My best mate has a VU SS gen3 5.7l ute 6 speed manual with full exhaust no mufflers just 4 hot dogs (loud yes... sounds sweet? YOU BET) and extractors and K&N (no LS1 edit) and has run a proven 14.10 qtr mile at Calder in the middle of last year and my car is as per my sig at the bottom (which means it looks nice :crybaby: but is stock as...) and we are so closely matched, read: door to door that we could hold a conversation through open drivers and passengers windows all the way to 160kph (private road of course) if we both had the balls...

Which of course we do... just not right now :spit::msm: hehehe

Haven't run a HSV (yet), but seat of the pants says that my T is HEAPS quicker than my previous auto 355ci 5.7l stroker HSV Senator... and also my mate in his ute would make my Senator look quite the fool when both gave it a bit on the open road and from the lights...

Here's post-7603-1136539213_thumb.jpg of our cars together at my place on Christmas day... take careful note of his personalised plates... believe me they get some kind of reaction!! :msm:

Not a F6 or XR6T but the old mans Pursuit has killed many LS1's none have been modified from what he's been able to see but SS's are an Easy Kill for the grey Ghost as the old man calls it...

Havn't had the chance to play with an XR6T or HSV yet but cannot wait for the chance...
