I use Castrol R, they can't or won't supply that and I do my changes at 10,000 km and it wasn't due for a change for another 5,000 km. They said that unless they changed the oil at the specified time, they would not honour the warranty. Note that every oil change had been recorded in the service book. Needless to say, they got the finger and I went elsewhere.Give them a try and if they say 'no', go to another MOFOCO dealer. That sounds like the dealer has made that decision. It has nothing to do with Ford Motor Company. MOFO takes pride in advertising the strenght of their dealerships and servicing etc, they need to exercise a little more control over the rogues that are within their fleet of dealers. My 03 6t ute has had a aps exhaust, pwr cooler, valve springs, eboost 2 boost contoller and an Xtreme edit. My starters now playing (usual dodgy solenoid trick give it a tap with a shifter etc and it fires right up) the cars due for a 60 thou service.....Do you guys think the dealer will try to weasel out of doin the starter under waranty because of the other mods? As a mechanic I cant see a connection between the other mods and the starter playing up so early in its life but what do you guys think?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>maybe you should follow some of you own advise http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22347I dont get why you expect them to fault find a fault in an aftermarket system on a car that's under warranty. they have every right to refuse to repair the (or even look at) non genuine parts or systems on a car under warranty. once you start modifiying a car your better off finding a shop that speacialises in high performance mods. Fords techs are trained to repair standard systems or systems with factory approved mods. what happens if they touch the aftermarket hosing and it later develops a leak and causes a fire?(extreme example I know..) whos fault is it then? who pays the bill? they arent going to touch any aftermarket system for that reason.once again you play you pay...I blew the trans in my ute shortly after hitting the 300rwkw mark. I didnt even bother with trying to get warranty or a new trans from ford because I modded the car so it became my problem.
