hi guys , im new to this site and I have a blood orange n/a xr6 ute and im looking at supercharging it probably using a procharger unit or vortech and I was wondering if somebody could answer a few questions I have

first of all which is better s/c or turbo?

if the turbo is can I fit a turbo to mine without changing compression ratio?

has anybody seen a supercharged xr6 yet?

thank you for your time

Dont waste your money put it towards trading in your xr6 for a turbo jobbie then edit that it will be cheaper and quicker in the end

There wa a review in Motor mag a while ago on a BA 6cly ute with the Vortech Intercooled kit from CAPA. The kit costs something like 7k. I think the car made someting like 230rwkw and only ran a flat 14. They also said it did not feel as fast as a Turbo because it lacked the low down torque.

It can be done but by the time you buy the kit, install it and get your car custom tuned etc etc etc. You are better of trading it on a XR6T as it is just as fast in stock trim.

Take it from us mate, not worth even thinking about the headwhatsanames when you start going down that path :nono::msm:

Trade your bus in on a "T" plenty of good deals out there,it's from the factory with a blower, still under warrnty, you shove an edit into it,and what a beast you have.

Nice and quiet and well behaved when it needs to be,open her up :nono: and oh la la.

vik...does this thing go or what

I can only back up the ones that say just get a turbo falcon to start with and go from there, if you want to stay good with your warranty then go that way to get the best out of supercharging yours you will be up for many extra $$$$$ the charger kit will cost close to 10 K fitted and pistons and rods with balancing and machine work aswell.

If you love your car and dont want to trade it I would turbo the one you have which can be done cheaper. and its not a big drama to change your compression with a change of head gasket.

I can help you with some more hints, tips and secondhand parts if you need...
