Did u run it back the other way??

As mentioned above..

I ran mine on a PDA 1/4 mile sim, and it's accurate to 1/10 and exact on Terminal ( I testd it @ the drags ), but a slight downhill run ( on my driveway...... ) saw me go 12.1 one way then back the other, a 13.2.. If the road wasn't perfectly level, it will skew the times.

Do a back to back for us.

While a 13.2 is very possible from a BF Typhoon as done by Turbo Corty in his BA, I would not put to much trust in the gtech, I have one of these and have put to the test at WSID, it was all over the place...Obviously the 6 speed auto should be capble of very quick 1/4 mile, but I rather see a time slip. No... the gtech was not used in my Typhoon.

Done the run both ways its a new private road and smooth, it a mimic of calder park track, you could say. Also I had about 8 goes on the gtech perfecting the launch. I found that at 2000 stall it copped wheel spin and and hooked up a 13.9, at 1800-1850 13.22, also with a passenger 13.4 first go at it jsut stalled and planted the foot, I was having a coffee with the miss's during the 1/4, you gotta love the auto. MY gtech has been test against the board at calder with my mates xr6 turbo and has done well everytime. Its good by GT-p, R8 or any 10 ltr, 6ltr or what eva they are.

The box down shifts for you when you start breaking, its like I am actually pushing in a lower gear.

The Changes very smooth couldn't notice it changing, on boost very quick on the kick down point, it just whacks you back in the seat and you stay there till you back off, brakes where excellent polled up great at the run from 170-180km. Very smooth and harder ride, the 19ins were excellent I was expecting a harsh ride from 19ins but there better than the 17ins. The car only had 1000km and did a 13.2 on a 14 degree night, I reckon a BMC filter 10degree night and 10000km on the clock and we will see a 12.99 no probs. Steering noticable harder than xr6 turbo, boost gauge went just past half and stayed there till I backed off.

Exhaust note noticable louder sounds tough, runs were done with traction on, when I turned it off the times went in the high 13's.

10 out of 10 for the phoon 6 speed auto.

Well Done FPV, this is the package I was waiting for.

Took my mate for a drive also, he has now canceld his order on the bf xr6 turbo and ordered a phoon 6 speed auto.

As for the mags, there a load of sh*t. I ran consistant 13's back to back, and I drove the car for 10 hours non stop because I couldn't get enough of it, spent $150 in petrol and did 450km, just local driving. Took it around corners and it performed well. Maybe I should show them how to launch a car, all they do it spin of the line, no wonder there not getting the numbers, its not a Jap crap to do it like that. :mexicanwave:

I did 13.47@104mph with an old Gtech and two weeks later I did 13.48@101mph at Calder.

I think if the road is farely even and the Gtech is calibrated right I think they can give a good indication of what your car can do over the 1/4.

I have had the gtech for ten years, and I trust what they sayas long as;

you balance it proply

you do runs both way's

you don't have to much slack between the suction caps and the part they mount on to

even the mags are showing 170ks with full tank and two people on board, and with heat soak,

so a good run on a cold night at the drags should give a 12 imo

your info sounds about right, but that said it is still best to take it for a strap down the quarter to varifiy the claims, and it will just run it in that little bit better.

there was a typhoon on the forum the other day from Mackay with an auto, if he wants to go out the track on the 13th of jan for the street meet, I will lend him my tyres and we can see what it can run with traction, pm me if your interested.
